ARE YOU GOING TO ASK FOR THEIR PAPERS TO WORK HERE IN THE U.S.? ARE THEY LEGAL OR ILLEGAL WOULD BE YOUR QUESTION. OTHERS WOULD BE IS THERE A WARRANTY ON THE WORK. YES, IMMIGRANTS DO GREAT WORK TO KEEP PROPERING IN THE U.S.A. COMPITITION IS TOUGH BUT NOT TOUGH ENOUGH.

Another problem with cheap labour is that it doesn't stay cheap, very soon many migrant families will want a mortgage, nice car and all the trapping of an everyday life. Which I'm afraid you can't afford on such low wages, so protest march after protest march, rally after rally etc etc (this happened to the Brits with migrants from the west indies thirty years ago). Which then leaves the country with the same problem one generation later but you have ten million more people to support. What then import more illegal aliens to support a pretty enigmatic financial problem?

"wages and salaries now make up the lowest share of the nation’s gross domestic product since the government began recording the data in 1947, while corporate profits have climbed to their highest share since the 1960’s. UBS, the investment bank, recently described the current period as “the golden era of profitability.”

Cheap, below living wage labor is hurting the entire country and will push us into recession per the Fed. Who are you to argue with the Fed?

""Although the economy continues to add jobs, global trade, immigration, layoffs and technology — as well as the insecurity caused by them — appear to have eroded workers’ bargaining power."

" Ben S. Bernanke, the Federal Reserve chairman, did not specifically discuss wages, but he warned that the unequal distribution of the economy’s spoils could derail the trade liberalization of recent decades."

That is shorthand for 'with cheap illegal immigrant labor the rich get richer and the poor get poorer and Americans are losing the 'American Dream'.

Since my mother and I own a used car lot, we have a mechanic who works on our vehicles (white guy - Larry) but, if it's something he just cannot fix, we take them to a mechanic shop down the street that's owned by a white guy (Robert.) The head mechanic there is Hispanic (Hector) but I believe he was born here - not illegal. He's a very good mechanic and their prices are very reasonable. And if he can't figure out what's wrong with the vehicle and is unable to repair it (which doesn't happen very often) then we take it to the service department at the new car dealership (which is very expensive.)

Is that a fair answer?

I do all my own mechanic work.If for some reason I absolutely positively couldn't do it myself.I would pass up Juan's shop every time.Hate to tell you but cheap prices and a inexpensive shop doesn't give me much encouragement that they would know what the hell they're doing. If I have to pay 6 times to get a job done right at $35. ..That's $210. A lot more than if I took it to the "gringo's" shop isnt it?

Just because it says's Mexican does not assure you they know what they are doing. You don't include do they have all the latestest equipment to function with computers to properly diagnosis the problem. Plus I wouldn't take nothing to sears. For a 35 dollar problem I would fix it.

Everyone likes a good deal! However, if I was prone to pay someone "under the table" in order to get a good deal, I would rather pay an American mechanic under the table than an undocumented immigrant.

Juan Carlos Body Shop also does it better. You see us Mexicans ahve that labor hand meanwhile we educate ourselves and become better at anything that we do. Labor work is for those people that chose not to go to school, at least thats the way Mexicans are brought up. Americans make a huge deal because Chachita took their cleaning job from them. But oh yes, they call themselves "middle class Americans" in Mexico, like I said, people that do labor work are just uneducated low class citizens. Im not ashamed to say it and they are not ashamed to admit it either. They understand true service to those few that deserve it.

Of course people want things for cheap. But whats your point? Do you think that the US should allow undocumented workers to cross the border to be exploited? Your "Juan and Carlos" reference is suspect. Who are you?
