who diagnosed this child and did they give anymore info or suggestions? everyone handles cod differently especially if they are so young. sometimes the best thing to do is tell the child that you love him and keep reassuring him that you will always love him. kids that age are scared because they wonder if they are normal and because they are afraid the family won't love them anymore and because they really do believe whatever fear they have (real or unreal)
give him hugs and kisses and reassurance
good luck

I think you have to take him to a a psychologist. He may be good at sports and other activities, but deep inside he has fears, that only a doctor can bring up and treat accordingly. He is young and soon comes the teen age, that could bring up more changes.

First an for most is to find the root cause of his behaviour. consult the child to good psychatrist or psychologist. his cause of his problem can be traced through hypnotism following psychological counseling.

If there is a question of this take him to a qualified child phychologist. It can affect his memory and school work even if he is good in sports.
good luck.
