I want to know people's opinions on this issue, eg age difference of 20 or more years.

Personally I think it's discrimation, but I'd like to know what other people think.

Yes, An Unhappy Yahoo, I made a couple of mistakes, but not to people making responses, I would like to get responses that are not copied and pasted as a response for multiple questions, like An Unhappy Yahoo does! Note specifically to AUY, you gave the same response to the following people and their questions...
itsallg _ hypothetical question?
anthony -homework help
shane - Yahoo Chat? and
callwith_sobhan - a girl..

I'm not sure what you're asking...Is it a police officer that's dating someone 20 years younger? Is it a work romance, between employees? In that situation, maybe the older person is a supervisor of the younger person, which I think usually is a bad idea. If it's just an officer dating someone 20 years younger or older and it has nothing to do with work, I don't see that it's a problem.

I believe that having a relationship built on common interests and mutual respect is far more important than the age difference between the two persons, provided both are of legal age, of course.

I'm assuming you mean that the younger of the two here is at least 21, and the older is the cop, and he is >41. If this age difference is interfering somehow with his job then I could understand a forced break-up, but I don't think any law enforcement agency would even try to do this, especially since it is very unconstitutional. So long as the younger party is older than 18 it doesn't matter how old the older one is. If you were the younger person here in this situation, I would get the feeling that he's lying to you...

No. No one should be forced to break up with someone based only on an age difference.

I think it's discrimination also. I don't think age should be an issue in a relationship when two people care about each other.

May I suggest you first learn how to spell. Once you master spelling, please work on sentence structure. By the time you accomplish these two goals, I am sure the issue you are concerned about (whatever that happens to be) will have been resolved.

Good luck.
