Many sub-castes of Hindus and mostly all Jains are vegetarians. I am curious to know about any other religions/communities who practice vegetarianism. They may be anywhere in the world. Pls do write if you have information on any of them or if you are one of them, with details. Thank you.

Most Buddhists are vegetarians and The Seventh Day Adventists are, also. You will also find alot of Wiccans/Pagans who are also vegetarians, but it's not a religiously guided choice, for the most part.

Buddhists could be Hindus or Jains (or Christian or atheist). Buddha became once requested about the existence of god and he refused to respond to. His justification is that his preparation is in ordinary words worried with the relief of suffering. no matter if god exists or not neither creates nor eliminates the suffering that exists and hence isn't in the scope of his preparation. i'm a lot less conscious of the traditions of Jainism yet from the friends I have that are Jain i'd not evaluate it a similar as Hinduism. obviously Hinduism is almost an umbrella time period for the worship of many deities even with the undeniable fact that it really is yet another question for yet all over again. To me this question is like asking if Christianity and Islam are religions or in the journey that they could all be stated as Jews. Jesus became a Jew, Buddha became a Hindu. because a convention arose from yet another custom does not advise it does not stand through itself advantage.

Christians were Vegetarian at first, until after the flood, when God gave them permission to eat only certain animals! Few folks follow Gods instructions! God gave all freedom of choice in all things. He has stated what happens if you do this or that or the other thing! Some are good, some are bad, but is all your choice!

Seventh day adventists (SDA) often practice vegetarianism. I think that both Kellogg (of corn flake fame), and Post (grape nuts), were SDAs.
