i do not think that it should matter how humans got their start on this world. all that matters is that we are here now. who cares about the evolution theory enough to teach it to our kids. if we want our kids taught that, then it should be up to the parent to teach the child about evolution. not the schools. is there anyone out there who agrees with me?

i hate to break it to you guys, but science was started by christians who wanted to understand the universe that God had made. all non christian material should be stricken from scientific record. that last bit is my oppinionthe rest of it is historical fact.

You happened you're here get over it. Is that what you propose? Suppose it is possible but a vast majority of people want to know about their past. Evolution is a more viable theory than a bearded old man in a robe getting bored and deciding too create The Universe and Earth Etc in seven days. Unless you are proposing that this become The United Christian States of America then I would suggest home schooling. Peace.

Sciences, including evolutionary theory, should be taught in school. That's what school is there for. Evolution, how the theory has been formed, the discoveries that come out of evolutionary theory are a backbone of science. It shouldn't be left only to parents, who may or may not be equipped to properly teach the subject.
"all non christian material should be stricken from scientific record"
You mean stuff like engineering, health sciences and applied mathematics? Good thing you're not the one who decides what should be taught in schools. Your blind prejudices betray an amazing ignorance about the cumulative nature of knowledge.

As long as it is taught as a Theory...what teachers seem to fail to teach is what a theory is. Nobody is eaxctly sure and having siad that, I think that other theories should be taught as well even in public schools the theory of God's part in evolution is just as important to be taught.
Once teachers can explain the meaning of theory then they can teach what is deamed to be the "most commonplace" theory such as evolution.

Given the rampant hypocrisy of a great many "Christians" I'd say there is now a greater need for the teaching of evolution in schools than ever before.
Especially in a world where some self-professed Christians obviously haven't got a clue how to behave properly. In fact, if your behaviour is typical of Christians, it's easy to understand how and why it is losing it's appeal among decent people, isn't it?

Tut, tut tut. What will God say about this sort of behaviour come judgement day??? LOL

NAW! It doesn't matter? In fact, who here really cares about gravity? Let's just accept that we don't float away into space. Never mind any curiosities anyone might have about anything!
Let's take it one step further! Let's tell our children to forget about American history, I mean no one CARES about that! Snore! Just tell 'em we're here now and forget everything else!
Oh, by the way, aubry65355, look it up. When used in a scientific sense, theory pratically means fact. Yeah. The theory of gravity and atomic theory...guess what...THEY'RE FACTS

I don't care if they teach it as a theory, but not as a fact.

I think you are right..but kids and everyone else is curious about that and schools feel that they are entitled to teach whatever they want even if they dont believe in it themselves.
