Thank you, Nathan, for refuting the claims of Calvinists. I'm glad there's someone else on here who knows it's a bunch of bunk. And that's putting it mildly. Think of how many people have felt hopelessly condemned and that they couldn't come to God because they believed a Calvinist? It angers me when people distort the word of God, but it angers me even more when people are made to feel that they cannot, or are playing the lottery, to "hopefully" be saved. Calvinism is one of the most outrageous doctrines of demons around. Thanks again for exposing this evil.
Jesus said, Whosoever will (which means whoever wants to or decides to)
Matthew 10:32 - Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 12:46 -
I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
WHOSOEVER means WHOSOEVER! But I guess the Calvinists somehow haven't noticed that word, though it appears in the Gospels over 80 times!

Once saved, you have accepted god. A lot of people try to hold onto god with one hand and the world with the other. Needless to say, please by all means read your bible thoroughly before posting. You are saying because people sin suddenly we are no longer saved?!?!?!
God forgives, you repent, you attempt to lead a better life. Noone in this life always makes the right decision. We are all human in flesh and blood that live in a world of temptation.
A drunk is a drunk who can find Jesus and if he slips once he will be forgiven. It is if he chooses to keep making that same choice that will make a difference. We all have to face the lord at the seat of judgement and answer for all our wrongs or rights.

I have personally struggled with that question for a long time. And surprisingly that is a question that is raised MOST (and in my experience ONLY) by evangelicals.
I have always wondered why it is that charismatics and pentecostals almost never have a problem with this question. To them this whole salvation thing is plan and simple. We humans are born sinful, Jesus died for our sins and our original sin, we accept that sacrifice and thus by faith we are saved. To quote Paul, so what shall I say then, will I continue to sin that grace might abound? No!
In stark contrast to the Calvinist approach are the Armenists (Armenism, as opposed to Calvinism!) They believe everything that Calvinists believe, but also that our FREEWILL plays an important part in our salvation.
In support of Calvinism and predestination, the most strongest argument comes from Paul in Rom 9 -- potter, clay, can clay talk back to the potter, etc. However, it is interesting that Paul quotes directly from Jeremiah -- where Jeremiah continues to expound on the potter-clay equation.
After asserting that the clay cannot question the potter intents and motives, God continues to speak and He says that even though I have decided to do good, if you do bad, then I will repent and do bad to you. But even though I have decided to do bad to you, if you instead do good, then I will repent and do good to you instead.
Just read the bible and understand what it says and we'd be okay! Well, easier said than done! Because, when it comes to matters of faith, we do have to, every now and then, ask some really tough questions and to that end, I salute you!
I have an analogy, it's not perfect, but it gets the point across. There are three types of Christians -- the monkey xian, the cat xian and the kangaroo xian.
The monkey xian believes that everything about her salvation must be worked out in fear and trembling, just like the baby monkey who must cling on to it's mother as she swings from branch to branch, tree to tree.
The cat xian believes that every aspect of his faith is completely in God's control and there is nothing he can do that will separate him from the love of God. Similar to a kitten, who is taken from one hiding place to another by the mother cat and will continue to do so.
The kangaroo xian on the other hand believes that God is completely responsible for her salvation. But, also that she is equally responsible to keep herself in the safe place under God's care and protection. Again, similar to the baby kangaroo who must remain in the mother's pouch to remain safe. But, the mother cannot herself control if the baby will stay there safely -- it is the baby's prerogative!

I kind of agree with your arguement but not fully
u said that " So as a man/woman who professes faith in Jesus Christ yet continues to live in sin is not saved by any means." well thats not fully true.
that person has given his soul to Jesus and all that person has to do is say "Jesus pleese forgive me" unlike a person who has never given his life to the lord and has to do that alter call prayer or something like that
by the way : devils would not say " God bless! Take care!"
p.s. what if the cristian is suffering to and cannot posibly help

Salvation is like the baptising, once baptised, you cannot "withdraw it back". Jesus many times told many people " your FAITH made this or that", you believed and you're cured, resurrected, and saved, that He told the Roman chief that because he believed He saved his servant, and so on.
WHOSOEVER is for non-belivers ONLY, who have not yet accepted Jesus. God has a plan for everyone's life! So BEFORE you believe, you hear WHOEVER COME TO ME, but AFTER you believe, you hear CHOSEN BY GOD, SET APART, SAINT. It's like a sign above the gate, before going there "WHOSOEVER COME TO ME" is written, but when you get in and look at it from the other side you see "CHOSEN BY GOD" written there.

That thought has been around a long time, and taught sadly. As you can turn to God you can also can turn from him! Even Christ stated " do not tempt the lord thy god" when Satan was tempting him! In the ten commandments it says thou shalt not kill when in fact it was Thou shalt not murder! Killing is acceptable in war and self defence! Read your scripture! A great slaughter is soon to take place as those of evil must be disposed of, Read your bible!

protestans believe that an acceptance of Christ as your savior is sufficient to go to heaven. catholics believe that, to admitted to heaven, you need to accept Christ AND you need to do good works. faith alone is not enough, you have to live with principles of love, charity and forgiveness espoused by Jesus. its a fundemental difference between protestants and catholics.

I don't believe once saved always saved. You don't need to be too sure or over confident of your salvation, cause you can loose it.

First of all, it depends on which Christian denomination you belong. Secondly, it looks like you answered your own question, so what's the point?
