1) does your traditional chest and slight shoulders
2) does your shoulders and upper back
3) uses quick force to push you up, while you are up you are not getting a workout.
Traditional pushups are your best choice, but also try with your arms tucked in rather than spread out for more of chest isolation.
Number 3 would be more for cardio rather than muscle gain
Number 2 would be for shoulder muscle gain as it is using vertical force equaling to shoulder press exercise
while Number 1 will do your chest the most with high gain and ripping.
For more of muscle gain try bench press.... flat...incline and decline.

clap and normal, but you have to go all the way down. adjust how far your arms are from one another-to get a full arm/chest/shoulder workout.
a hard push up is when you have your hands really close together so they touch like a triangle and go all the way down until your chin touches your hands. For muscle building.
hand stand doesn't do much cause a lot of pressure is taken off when u put your feet on the wall.

Number #1...
The normal push up, all others are for showing off. I was the push up man in the Marines. When you can complete 85 push ups without stopping, then you can elevate your legs to a higher position. Use your interior steps for elevation.
Also, what Marines do is count to 10 or 15 if your really in shape.
Explanation: Do one push up, walk 3 steps do another (your second) get up without delay (but do not rush) continued to 10, then work back using #10 once again. 9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1

Well, the first one should be mastered before the second type and finally the third type. Push ups are for strengthening and building muscle. Burning fat more efficiently involves cardio aerobic exercises like running, fast walking, jump roping, bicycling, swimming. Most people cannot do push ups for thirty minutes or more straight.Good luck.

for aerobic exercise, the clap ones are better. For muscle building, the handstand ones are better, although one handed pushups might be better. Other alternatives are fingertip pushups to strengthen your fingers and wrists and knuckle pushups to strengthen your fists.
