If a dog had advanced intestinal worms, still active, but in pain, would you try to treat him or put him to sleep?

i had a situation quite like your own it is a very hard decision i however cant say what to do all i can say is follow your heart and do what you think is best remember your first thoughts are most likely the right path i wish i could be of more help but i hope everything goes alright for you

If the vet says that he will still be in pain even if we treat him, then I would but him down. I have a zoo of animals over here and I know that it can be very hard to make that decision. In the end it's the animal that will decide because if they are living a crappy life ( one that I would never want when I get older ) then I do what I have to do. I'm sorry your dog is sick. Pesumably your dog is not a puppy. They should be wormed anyway to prevent infestation.
Try this link for info and I hope all goes well. The last thing you want to do is pit him to sleep

Think about it. If you wouldnt try to treat the dog, will you feel guilty later on. At least try to treat the dog, then you'd know you did everything you could and wouldnt feel guilty if you put him down.

Treat him of course no matter what the cost (as in $$$). If he/she is in that much pain and there's not much else you can do - then I can see putting them to sleep.

Treat him if he can be cured. If the vet's opinion is otherwise, then put him to sleep so that you don't have see the dog suffer unnecessarily.

um... no its worms... the doctor can give him shots and medicine to put on his food to get rid of the worms

Hard decsion to make. Talk to your vet. They may have medicine to help him with the pain. Mine had cancer, and we helped him with medicine until he told me it was time by not wanting to do things he use to love to do, like going for car rides and walks. The vet helped me to keep him comfortable until it was time to help him by saying goodbye.

VET imidialtly, treat, with special medicine that the vet told you, and sleeeeeeep!!!
