The correct way to say it is: "I and my friends" or "My friends and I"
The way you can figure this out is by adding to 'my friends' and using it in a sentence. It would incorrect to say "Me went to the store with my friends" it would be "I went to the store with my friends"
Good to know you want to be gramatically correct. I wish more people were like you!
*You don't have to say "My friends and I" as people are suggesting here. It's just more common to say it that way, which is why everyone here thinks that's the correct to say it.

Depends on usage...
If the usage is part of the subject of the sentence... My friends and I will hang at the mall. ...then 'my friends and I' would be correct (and would be called the Nominative Case).
If the usage is part of the object of the sentence... You should see my friends and me. ... then 'my friends and me' would be correct (and would be called the Objective Case).
Note: The I and the ME should always be listed after MY FRIENDS in either case.

Sounds better to me to say 'My friends and I don't think that sounds right'
or 'That doesn't sound right to me and my friends.' I is used as the subject (pitcher), and me is used as the object (receiver) in a sentence.
