Dogs Eating habits?

I have a friend who has a pickanese dog and she won't eat any brand of dog food.... They have tried everything....and I mean that literally...She will eat boiled chicken and hamburger, she loves tomatoes and onions, even apples.... is there something wrong with her? she didn't start this until she got spay.... she has always beed a picky eater, but she wont even eat unless you act like you are eating....Could she need some vitamins???? Any one else have any similar problems with their dogs????

also they have let her go without human food and just set out her dog food to eat and she didnt eat for 4 days, so they had to give in to her

I dont own a dog but this is what i found

Pekingese. They are obstinate, self-willed and may be difficult to feed and are sometimes known to refuse to eat as much to show dominance over its owner as to lack of appetite. If overfed, Pekingese will quickly become overweight.

1. She must not eat onions. Onion, garlic and grapes (and alcohol) are toxic to dogs.
2. I see nothing wrong with her eating fresh food. would you prefer chicken or dog food? The dog's the same.
3. If they only give her dog food for a couple of days instead of spoiling, I bet she'll eat it.
4. It's better not to eat only meat. If they mix some veg in it (carrots) and a little carb (a little pasta or rice) I am sure her diet will be balanced.

As long as the dog gets some meat, it shouldn't need any vitamins.
