Well my 11 year old son has cancer. It was such a shock, but after seeing all the other kids in the hospital with cancer, and much worse cancers and on longer treatment protocols, some for years, having undergone chemo and radiation and some facing death it's just brought me to my knees.

We all must do something to beat back this terrible disease. No child should have to go through what these children go through...no human being...the fact that you said everyone in town makes me wonder what it is that is happening around your town...do you have some kind of factory? Does everyone work in mines? There is so much toxicity in this world that it's a crying shame....you live in a country that is free yet a country that poisons it's people slowly with it's factories and pesticides etc. etc. It's scary.

We have to find a cure for cancer. It is such a terrible disease and it's torn my heart out not just to see my own son suffer but to see babies and 2 year olds undergo this...it's like something out of a horror movie.

You just need to look at the wikipedia deaths page to see how huge a problem it is. All the celebrity deaths are listed there and a disproportionate number are resulted from cancer.

There is one small town in America I read about where even their children are getting a rare form of cancer, the whole town has a rate of 2 or 3 times the national average. The government still refused to admit to or take responsibility for the toxins that the military leached into the water supply.

In New York City this year 100 (approx) people will get cancer just from breathing the air...

It's scary when you read up on all of this, and somewhat disheartening to know that we live in a world that is so technologically advanced and yet at higher levels so much denial exists that it won't be used to improve things.

I think most people understand how badly the statistics for getting cancer are, whether because of your genetics or outside causes...I believe that it is healthcare that is making it such a terminal epidemic. This is only my opinion, but I feel like there is more testing that needs to be required during yearly exams. Such as MRI's, just think how many less people may die of cancer if they received yearly MRI's. I am not saying it catches all, but alot of people would possibly be diagnosed more early on in their cancers due to an MRI. I understand it is costly, time consuming, etc...but our lives are worth that extra step aren't they. I feel they we are all owed to be checked for everything during our annual checkup's...it may be our only chance at survival. So many things go symptomless until they are no longer curable.

It depends on the cancer, how agressive it is and how early it is caught. Most cancers caught in the early stages are curable. There have been many advancements in cancer treatment so there is a better chance of survival.

yes, canccer is really a big problem, where u ave to undergo chemo, or radiotherapy that sometimes makes u sicker than u were when u entered the room. However, people fight it and some manage to live positive lives even when they have it!! My prayers n thoughts for all those who have it!
