Unfortunately, the vast majority of evangelical efforts are misconstrued as attempts to help their fellow men. But I entirely agree with you. If every person who went door to door handing out pamphlets, or made television appearances supporting their beliefs, or simply built a building for worship had instead walked in the needy areas handing out food, appeared on television calling for donations to righeous causes, or build a shelter for their fellow men in need, the world would be better off. And yes, I know that is quite a run-on sentence.

I do my best to pick up my fellow man with my Bible in my hand.
I never push Jesus onto people, but I am prepared to help in that area if it is what will pick up my fellow man. Some people want to know. But if he/she needs water, it is water first every time.

I do what I can for my fellow humans. I am not a Christian and I don't carry a bible even though I do have one. I try to make my Gods proud of me and do what I can for others, even if it is just a prayer that they need.

""do you think if people all over the world put as much energy into actually helping their fellow man?""
NO. No where close.

Helping the fellow man is what christians call "charity".
Well, you're right - however, it doesn't require abandoning our faith or beliefs (not that you said it did, but just in case you were thinking it).

I do. As much as I am able. But different people have different gifts too. Like some need to be out there spreading this type of message to help the cause also.

I think that the problem with help is that everyone seems to have different ideas of how to help others and most people need to help themselves more than they do as it is. I really think you ought to contribute to a charity who shares your beliefs and let them help as you see fit.

I don't know. Why doesn't the local Salvation Army help the homeless without preaching to them first? That's why some of them won't go there.
