satin looks more formal...but silk feels allot better. also, silk is more expensive then satin...but satin is easier to work with. it all depends on the style of the gown, and the formality of the wedding.

Satin is what is used on more traditional wedding dresses. Silk is a body hugging kind of material. It shows off every curve that u have. If you have the body and the money for the silk, then go for it, but if you are looking for a more traditional type of gown, then stick with the satin.

I would personally choose satin. It looks as nice as silk, but is cheaper.
Plus, unless you plan on wearing a sheath dress, you don't want silk. Satin is reserved for A-Line and Ball Gowns.

Satin! Silk is way too pricey and delicate to have for a wedding dress. Satin is much more "wearable" for the big day. Not to mention cheaper to get dry cleaned after!

Satin looks elegant for a wedding or any other occassion. I have seen people in silk and when they sweat, it shows. Also silk clings to your body and can be uncomfortable. Satin is the best.

Silk is always elegant, but satin just sounds so gorgeous. Which will be more comfortable wearing for a whole day? I think you should go with satin! Congrats and good luck!

It really depends on the time of year you will be getting married. Satin is great for cooler weather and silk is perfect for warmer.
Good luck!

both are appropriate and depending on the style of the dress both can look classy, or both can look tacky if the dress is tacky. Raw silk is beautiful but expensive, dupion satin is very pretty and a cheaper alternative to silk.
