I am actually a computer technician so I'll tell you the truth
Limewire itself is in fact spyware, but its tiny, so unless your computer is ancient it shouldn't slow down. The reason your cousins computer is slow is because of massive amounts of spyware. As long as you are careful what you download, and know what the file size should be (not these 128 kb songs (songs should be around 1 mb per minute for 128 kb, the most common bit rate)). Get ad-aware or spybot search and destroy to clean the spyware if you get it. But also know if you live in the states, it is ILLEGAL, and in canada if you sell what you download, its ILLEGAL

I guess it might depend on the computer, or it could be something that she actually downloaded from Limewire, but not the program itself. Limewire hasnt slowed down my computer, but if I failed to thoroughly delete files that incompletely downloaded and stuff, then i get slowness. This is remedied by defragging and disc cleanup, and I havent had to do it for a while.

es it is. Sharing software such as Limewire, eMesh and eMule all cost money and of course it is the host's choice. My administrator has blocked all sharing program sites but apparently he uses the Morpheus sharing program therefore although people might think it is illegal, it is always useful. I may be moral be cause you may be ripping the suppliers off of their money but they make so much money from them anyway. Hope this has helped and i would recomend eMule for the stable reliable downloads (leave one download over night and it will come) or Limewire Pro (its what I have and if you only want songs, photos or docs, it is alegedly the quickest sharing problem) Be sure to have an antivirus program as some may carry viruses. I recomend NOD32 it is brilliant!

Limewire uses a lot of the computer resources when its downloading a lot of files. If you are downloading one small file, then its ok.
Pls try bitcomet or sharezza instead.. faster and it also can access to limewire network.

Not if you have a Windows computer. I have an APple computer, and so does my BFF, and she uses limewire since there was limewire, and she has never gotten a virus or fined

i dont think anyone knows this but limewire is just as dangerous if you dont move your music from your shared folder to another folder. if you do this then there's no way to get caught, possibility of viruses still, but best way to keep music on your windows media player:
My Computer>C:>Documents and Settings>Owner>Shared
thats where your shared folder is. create a shortcut, put it on your desktop, and when you download music move it to you My Music folder for security. good luck =D

Don't!!! It can be hard to get rid of. Uninstalling it doesn't actually uninstall it all. It leaves spyware on your PC. Buy music from allofmp3.com instead, you can get an album for $2! And it's not protected so you can use the music in any MP3 player!
