I don't know about "we," but I can't accept other religions than Christianity because all others are false.
However, in general, I don't attack people. Once in a blue moon I will snip out of frustration.
I, personally, have no insecurity with regard to my faith. I do get tired of people's gratuitous blasphemous questions, in addition to questions where the asker already has the answer and is just trying to bait and/or upset people. That is my personal pet peeve. But I choose to wade through the questions and answers, so clearly I need to do some work on not growing tired of ignorance.
There is no need to be defensive, you're right. There is a need to speak the truth, though.
The most important thing is to have faith--yes--if you have faith in God. If you have faith in fairies or ogres, then your faith is not only unimportant but destructive. It is an offense to God.
It is sometimes a difficult line to walk--being all nice and polite while pointing out that certain things that are hideous are blasphemy.
Sometimes it is hard to look ugliness in the face and be gentle.

I am tolerant of all religions in to the point the texts and or adherents are not tolerant. Unfortunately many religions, especially the fundamental interpretations of "The People of the Book" have too many not so tolerant aspects.
Other than this severe breach of ethics we need to be as tolerant of other people’s religions as reasonably possible. Personally I believe in being a spiritual independent and intuiting for myself, based on experience via texts, interactions, thoughts, nature, etc, the truth that is.
In my opinion this is the healthiest paradigm possible as presubscribed dogmas can be very dangerous. Once you can convince anyone that one particular text or religion is the only way and is infallible, it becomes a slippery slope to something much darker.
If we instead follow the spiritual compass The Divine has placed within us all we will avoid creating unnecessary suffering for ourselves and others. Peace be to all reading this.

The problem is that most religions are based on a belief as opposed to an idea. And it's harder to change a belief. Most people, not all, find a religion that works for them and then they stick with it. And damned be those that believe differently.
I don't think anybody has it right yet. How could they? In order to know for certain you would have to be dead, and the last time I checked that's a one way trip.

I think the media has created most of that hate between the different religions. However, true believers whether they're Christian, Muslim or Jewish knows that there is only one God and everyone is following his religion's pathway to worship him. So please do not let the media provoke each other. All we need to do is to read and learn about other religions from original sources and not the media if we really want to live in peace.

Religion is the parent of bigotry and blind hatred. I would have less trouble accepting others religion if they weren't constant try to impose it on me. It's fine to have your faith. I have no problem with that what so ever. But what's good for you isn't necessarily what is good for everyone.

i totally agree. all people do is attack each other. i personally am an atheist, but i have never attacked anyone on here for believing in a religion. you believe what you believe and i'll believe what i believe. i have no desire to prove you wrong. i really enjoy reading all the religion stuff on here because i like learning why people believe certain things. but all these hateful questions just ruin the experience.

The reason is simple. There is only one God, one Faith, one way to heaven. Not one million ways to God, All religions a/k/a faiths are completely wrong, but one is right. The question is which one is it?

What your seeing is spiritual warfare, some people who know there God , the one true God and in him we move and have our being in Jesus Name! Now when you have the truth like that there are demonic forces at work to stop to spreading news of the Gospel of this one true God,and will get nasty and ugly and spiteful and vengeful and try and cause dissension and confusion, why because they have the demons and the demons don't want anybody to know the real God because the whole Bible that tells of him also tells us how to defeat satan and these demons, and they don't want the masses to know! it Ephesians 6.10

Those who have chosen religion have found their beliefs indefensible, and are thus very quick to lash out when those beliefs have been challenged, disputed, refuted, etc...
They are continually having to turn away from mounting evidence against their beliefs just to maintain the little world of delusion they live in...
