Works VERY well for me. Been on it for several years. Side effects will pass after a few weeks. Dont be concerned about dependency issues, with your injuries you will become dependent on meds and docs know this. But there is a huge difference between a normal physical dependency and abuse. Your condition will not be getting better, so long term pain relief is exactly what you and your Dr should be looking at. For long term chronic pain this is one of the best drugs available. If yuo need any further help, feel free to email me. Good luck.

A friend of my mothers is in the same sort of predicament, I don't know about the bulging disks but he's got disk degeneration and has been in a lot of pain for many years. He was taking Oxycontin several years ago and I remember he'd have to Gage his meds in order to be able to drive. Nothing did a heck of a lot of good for all his pain, unfortunately. He was studying transcendental meditation so he could escape his painful body.

Oxycontin is highly addictive and can be problematic to people and society when the addict doesn't get enough of the drug and turns to crime. However to a person with degenerative disk disease would be unlikely to turn to theft to buy street market Oxycontin.

Good luck!

Oxycontin, Vicodine, There all crap and useless they do nothing for the pain but make you crabby and moody when you do not get it, If you have that much pain as I do seek out a professional pain clinic. I did at University of Michigan I now take methadone 10 mg 3x a day I have terrible sever back pain, at times I do get a little groggy but not if I eat first. Methadone is NON addictive and is the only thing that has even remotely controled my pain. Now mind you it is never completly gone, but it gives me enough releif that after 4 years of this I am actually able to function again on a low level IE: Vaccume,, doing dishes,,laundry with breaks, But beats being able to do NOTHING,,. They do have a pain control clinic I do go to 3x a week includes PT,, OT,, and counseling to help you deal with the changes in your life and living with the pain Please find you a good clinic where you live

Don't even try it.. It feels like relief at first and then you realize that the side effects and dependency is not worth it..

It is unbelievable pain when you try to get off the stuff..

Cortisone injections finally helped me, but even with that, it does not necessarily work quickly..
Sometimes you have to get the shots and wait a couple of months before relief comes, but it way more long lasting then Oxy or other drugs..
Stay off the pain pills, my advise

My mother takes Oxycotin for RA. I think the worst thing about it is you WILL become dependent on it and if you decide you want to get off it you will have to slowly get off it if you can. My moms been trying. Plus there is all the people addicted to it that might try to steal it. A lady was shot at a pharmacy here where I live for a bottle of oxycotin.

but other than that, lol, its a great pain reliever and it will help.

Oxycontin is a very potent opioid narcotic, like morphine, it can be very addictive. Dont worry it will take the pain away though. Unless you have a high tolerence to narcotics. Like you use them a lot.

I have tried it for a back injury, but it makes me sick so I personally like hydrocodone, Vicodin, it works the best when it really gets bad also darvocet works pretty good and it is not as addictive, you just have to be careful because your body gets addicted real easy.... Hope you feel better...
