Ok for the last 6 mths I have had this bad "ache" in my lower right side of my stomach kinda in the groin area maybe alittle above. It comes on at least 1 time a day and it lasts for about a hour or so. I have had ultra sounds, CT's and seen MANY doctors and they can not come to a conclusion to what it could be and then I hear that there is something called Chronic Appendicitis, Had anyone had this? If so was the pain on and off for a couple mths and it seems to start after standing for a while or walking? No it's not a hernia either. ( thats what I thought) I was wondering if this could be it and it so why would it NOT show up on other tests? PLEASE HELP this is a EVERYDAY struggle. Thanks!

That you just haad your gallbladder out is important to know. Are you on a special diet now?
I had what is called a 'smoldering' appendix. The pain was not usually localized enough to really pin point it,, although when palpated,, which means when you or the doctor feel around on the abdomen to see if anything is sore,,, that spot was sometimes very tender. It seems that when I went on antibiotics it would clear up for awhile but come back again. It was really bad for 2 years, but finally,, I was half dead from it continually poisoning my system. The ctscan never showed an inflamed appendix. What it did show, which one radiologist didn't catch, but the next one did, was that my appendix did not absorb the contrast,,, and he suggested that maybe that was because it was infected. They still weren't sure when they opened me up. The deal was that they would look and see, and as long as they were in there to take it out anyway. When they got in there to see it,, it was not infected on the end, but where it attaches to the intestine. I felt a whole lot better when that sucker was out!
So that is a possibility. It would be interesting to know more about your gallbladder surgery. Does the pain come on after you eat?

I had appendicitis, and one way to tell is if you press down on the area, and let go. If it causes pain when you let go, then that's a sign of appendicitis. if that happens go straight to hospital!!

Appendicitis is inflammation of the appendix. It is thought that appendicitis begins when the opening from the appendix into the cecum becomes blocked. The blockage may be due to a build-up of thick mucus within the appendix or to stool that enters the appendix from the cecum. The mucus or stool hardens, becomes rock-like, and blocks the opening. This rock is called a fecalith (literally, a rock of stool). At other times, the lymphatic tissue in the appendix may swell and block the appendix. Bacteria which normally are found within the appendix then begin to invade (infect) the wall of the appendix. The body responds to the invasion by mounting an attack on the bacteria, an attack called inflammation. (An alternative theory for the cause of appendicitis is an initial rupture of the appendix followed by spread of bacteria outside the appendix.. The cause of such a rupture is unclear, but it may relate to changes that occur in the lymphatic tissue that line the wall of the appendix.)

This happened to me when I was 15, it was a bad case of gas from a bad diet of fatty meat and oily vegetables. If it isn't gas, it could also be stress, a kidney or gallbladder stone, or appendicitis. If the pain is really bad and almost unbearable, then it is probably something really serious and you should go to ER right away. For instance, if it hurts so bad you fall down and the pain is nearly inconceivable - it is probably appendicitis.
Drink lots of water, people underestimate the power of water.

I know it is not Chornic appendicitis becasue I had that and it ruputed. but before I couldn't eat or drink anything not even water and I was jaundice. Chornic appendicitis is very deadly there is not way you would me able to live with the pain for 6 months. I went into a coma after 2 weeks and then spend the next 9 months after that in the hospital. Your could have any of this other disease ,irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, kidney disease. So I wish you the best of luck I will pray for you!
