It sounds harsh, but the fastest way to clear up a food allergy is to abstain COMPLETELY from the foods you are allergic to. I developed an allergy to dairy. The doctor said I had indulged in too many dairy products for too long, and thus became allergic. I eliminated all dairy from my diet (you'd be surprised at how many good recipes there are for nondairy desserts!) for six months, then gradually reintroduced it to my diet, backing off whenever I had a recurrance of symptoms. It took a while, but it did work for me. But you should always check with your doctor before self-treating complex conditions, and some food allergies might not ever get better, so you might want to start looking for alternatives to those tastes you love so.

An allergy is an abnormal reaction to ordinarily harmless substance or substances. These sensitizing substances, called allergens, may be inhaled, swallowed or come into contact with the skin.

If you have used lotion and vaseline then go to your doctor, you might have a dry skin condition like eczema or dermatitis that responds better to prescription moisturizers/ skin barrier creams.
