This reminds me of a story. It is about a Russian Orthodox monk who was constantly plagued by an inquirer who kept asking him about the pogroms in Russia and why some of the clergy supported them. He asked and asked hoping to goad the monk into a debate. Finally the monk shrugged and said, "I don't have to defend something that is obviously not Christian."

You see a religious person doing something hateful and you attribute it to their religion. I see them doing it *in spite of their faith* not *because of it*. That is the difference I think.

Excellent question and observation. Clearly religion is really just evil in disguise, well spotted.

Religion is responsible for the majority of wars, conflict and murder of innocent life since humanity began. There is considerable evidence to classify religion as evil, and talk of religion (Gods etc) should be banned. Because the records prove over and over again throughout humanity that religion is clearly responsible for crimes against humanity, taking part in any religious activity should also be outlawed and made a criminal offence.

The world would be a much happier and peaceful place if religion ceased to exist. Although there are some decent religious believers and preachers, they are unwittingly spreading evil around our world, and that they should simply keep their beliefs and thoughts to themselves in the best interests of humanity, or suffer the consequences for their actions.

People should consider that the world would be like Heaven if religion ceased to exist, but all the believers and preachers have turned the planet into Hell.

You skipped a part. It's the intolerance that leads to hate.

Pagans incorporated all faiths and beliefs from all peoples into their society and culture. So, this would not apply to them.

Buddhists do not interest themselves in the affairs of others and thusly do not mind what faith you may believe in.

I think you need to make your question a little more direct with specifics.

I thought it was a belief. I think it causes hate because there is difference religion just like difference country these groups of people want to make them selves sound more important then the others which causes wars what one god would let this go on is beyond me from a agnostic mind.

Here's a thought...maybe it's b/c religions are about bettering yourself, by yourself. So when things get tough, or people get on their nerves, they flip. Or, maybe b/c since they're reasons are selfish, and heck, they don't have anybody to answer to, no authority, so why not hate?

That's for religions though...Christianity is not a religion, it's a relationship with Jesus. Sorry to hear about the girl above who de-converted herself. I'll pray for you. B/c I want you to experience Christ's love, even past the hatred of those who claim to know Him (but really probably don't).

Religion is not about hate and it does not teach hatred
but, it is the people who leads these religions, i'm not refering to a specific religion here, that command hatred.
In my opinion, religion is also business.

pre-loaded question here.
I dont believe every religion is centered on hate. I do believe some were created out of anger, frustration, etc. but the idea of faith is not hate centered.

People can have a faith that is based in religious philosophy, and not in group identity and exclusivity and opionionatedness. I don't consider myself at all hateful, but I do consider myself a person of deep religious faith. It is the group, the organizational aspect, that is corrupting.
