I wish you had provided more detail in your question. Usually if BOTH your family and friends won't love you because of who you are with, it usually means because they see something that you don't. Too often I see women AND men staying with the wrong person because they are infatuated or in love with them, which blinds them from the person's faults. This has been documented in too many studies to list here.

I would definitely go seek an expert's opinion about this. Find a therapist that you feel comfortable with and ask them about this situation. Therapists are not just people with mental problems (that's a HUGE myth; many normal, healthy people seek therapy because they simply need help which usually alllows them to see things in a different way).

The bottom line here is to be honest with yourself and your situation and figure out why your family and friends are so against you two being together. I believe you "attract who you are", so this might also have to do with issues that are unresolved within you.

You can't help who you fall in love with, you can only help if you CHOOSE a good person or a bad person.....you have to be able to make wise choices regardless of your feelings......so, ask yourself a few questions. Does he love you? Does he treat you well? Is he a good person, doesn't hurt others? Is he one you would trust if he offered you assistance on a lonely dark country road? Will he look into your eyes and want you to conceive his children? Those are the things that matter, not his past, not what others think.....

You don't give a lot of details but I doubt your family and friends would truly stop loving you. However, I suspect that this guy is bad for you and your family is very concerned for you. Step back and give them a chance to explain--then listen. Don't just ignore what they are saying. Don't react with your heart only--think it through.

obviously your friends and family are selfish, and im sorry they dont care about u. The ones that care stick by u no matter who u love, and i say this with exoerience my dad kicked me out because am white and my fiancee is jamaican, he has a kick *** job (civil engineer) he is only 30 and he has all his **** together but becasue he is black my dad said me or him, if my dad cared he wouldnt have said that, so i left, 2 yrs later I still talk to my dad, ppl need to know that ur not going to be controlled. They will always love and talk to u evenb if it takes a few years but if u love this man stay with him unless he hits u or cheats

Maybe they see him for who he really is. Maybe you can't because you are temporaily blinded by love and lust. They have been known to make a perfectly intelligent person do the dumbest things !!!!! Ask your family,calmly,and with repect, WHY they do not approve of him. Really LISTEN to them. You may discover they are not all fools.
