..... Its not the cough your coughing, its the coffin they carry you off in. I saw this as a kid in a Highlights or Scholastic Scope magazine. If you've never heard of those magazines your way to young. Maybe their still around, I dont know.

no i haven't heard of the magazine either and i'm not young. i have heard the saying, usually said to smokers that when they cough they are putting and other nail in their coffin. or maybe it's when they light the cigarette.

My 6 year old daughter has a subscription to the Highlights magazine but I have never heard of that saying. But yes Highlights is still around and not very different from when I was a kid.
