First...Do you know if the slots in Reno are using cash or paper for their pay-outs?

Second: Why are casino chips in the twenty-five denomination and not twenty?

I can only help with the first question. Casinos is Reno offer both types of slots -- some pay in cash (coins) and some pay with paper (a voucher that you redeem at self-service stations or the cage).

Best of luck!

Reno uses both paper and coins to pay out. The newer machines all use paper, (that's the new thing I guess).

The twenty five chip is the best way to get to 100. They realize most don't bet a hundred at a time so they break it down based on 100 in order to count easily. That's why they always want to cash you out with less (bigger) chips before you leave the table.

-four, 25 chips are not messy and difficult to count
-ten, 10 chips can be messy...
-twenty, 5 chips certainly........

MOST Reno Casinos will pay out in coin, until the slot runs out then an attendant will come over and pay you the rest in cash.

For the second question, most likely is that THEY WANT YOUR MONEY! So instead of giving you a 20 chip, they'll want you to spend a 25 chip instead so you'll spend it faster.
