So, I was just sitting here at the desk, eating my multi-flavored Jelli-Beans, contemplating life when I decided to ask this after seeing so many examples of it. Do you believe most Christians use the lord (or bible) as their weapon? Do you disagree? Elaborate...

Religious people use religion and the Bible as an easy justification to kill innocent men, women and children. Religion is really just evil in disguise.
Religion is responsible for the majority of wars, conflict and murder of innocent life since humanity began. There is considerable evidence to classify religion as evil, and talk of religion (Gods etc) should be banned. Because the records prove over and over again throughout humanity that religion is clearly responsible for crimes against humanity, taking part in any religious activity should also be outlawed and made a criminal offence.
The world would be a much happier and peaceful place if religion ceased to exist. Although there are some decent religious believers and preachers, they are unwittingly spreading evil around our world, and that they should simply keep their beliefs and thoughts to themselves in the best interests of humanity, or suffer the consequences for their actions.
People should consider that the world would be like Heaven if religion ceased to exist, but all the believers and preachers have turned the planet into Hell.
So in answer to your question, yes religion, the Bible, God or whatever are used as weapons in more ways than one, they are lethal weapons used against innocent life unfortunately.

Well, I would say it depends. About several years ago, I had a little fight with my father, so I whipped the bible at him. And I was born into a half-Christian-dysfunctional family so that makes me some Christian, right. Does that count? Or how 'bout we all just forget about religion and get a bag of jellybellys and think about the next flavor they'll come up with. I love jellybellys.

The "Word of God" is described in Ephesians as the "sword of the Spirit", so it's not too surprising that it's used as a weapon. A specific example of what you mean would help me give a more elaborate answer, though.

i dont think that you can lable all christians as using the bible or g_d as a weapon. religion is a very sensitive subject for people. Its not just some christians that do this, but other faiths as well. All faiths can either bring people together, or tear them apart. look at the middle east... israle and lebanon... iraq... iran... afganastan...
theres nothing wrong with any of them. i just think that its a part of human nature is all. people disagree, and when you put a whole bunch of people together, they wont necessairly act responsibly. they will act rashly and without thinking.
just a thought... :)

They use the Bible as a weapon. Why do you think so many of them carry leather bound versions? All that thwacking people over the head would tear a typical hardcover book to pieces.

Fundamentalists do, as do most Muslims. The rest of us don't care one way or the other what you do with your life.
oh, and 13 -15 year old teenaged girls seem to as well, since that seems to be the age when they believe that only they are correct and everybody else must do what they say. Maybe fundamentalists are mentally only 13 . Maybe that's where they get their weird ideas from

Most christians will use the bible as their self-indoctrination tool, yet they seem to prefer M-16s when it comes to weapons

Only if you consider a shield a weapon.
A weapon to protect against attack.
After reading some comments, I believe it is this shield.
