i smoke.i enjoy it.i also have 2 kids .i dont smoke in the house and definitely
not in a car with kids.i dont care for smoking sections in the restaurant and i wont go in a bar where i cant smoke.and please dont tell me not to smoke on the street.i respect people that dont smoke and i want same in return.if you
dont like it - move away - plenty of room .
its "in "to talk about harm of smokin.and how much it cost taxpayers in medical bills and so on. it is not a healthy habit and we all know that. but its my choice to smoke and i pay for my healt insurance.when those of you (including state and federal officials)telling me to quit, start paying those bills- i ll consider it.
dont we have other problems like hunger peace etc?
why dont we talk about obecity (not people that have medical conditions) why dont we talk about money being made from sales of tabacco products - a lot of it.
trying to ban alcohol made it worst it brought even more crime.
tabacco is goin to be any different-doubt it.
but its an easy ticket for any politician.talk about cigaretts -people close their eyes on a lot of other things less important
(jobs,economy etc)
i am pretty sure most parents do care about health of their kids.and if some of them dont - there is a bigger problem in those families than second hand smoke.

Wow ! I dont think there is a person in this country that can honestly claim ignorance on that one. Come on! I see people do it once in a while and feel sorry for there children having to put up with such awful care takers. You need a cigarette bad enough to give you children bad lung and heart problems. I wish I sould be on the ball team mom, but I have severe asthma because you cant show some restraint. (Yet probably expect your kids to show some. ) Dose not happen every time but I tell you It happens.
What I am trying to tell you is... Next time just turn around and put the cigarette in your kids mouth and let them smoke it. What are you daft!!!
P.S.-I smoked for about ten years and have kids. So scratch those two off your cop-out list

Yaaah! Sounds like they're looking out for kids. Cigarette smoke stinks and there are rumors that it can make you sick, best to err on the side of caution. If someone doesn't care enough for their own kids health I am glad to hear that the state is going to step in.
How selfish is it to contaminate the air your kids breath on purpose. Even more selfish to get upset that someone else cares more for your kid than you do. If you must smoke you should be able to wait a few minute or you could pull off some safe place and poison yourself outside the car.

Since kids can't get out of the car or transport themselves, and the BAD Effects of even second-hand smoking is well known (much less how horribly affected an asthmatic is when confronted by smokers puffing away) -- I say:
YIPEE! Protect the kids! Protect the Asthmatics who have to limit their exposure because second-hand smoke is a trigger for their symptoms.

the were trying to do that in Ontario. It didn't happen thank god.
people will stop at nothing to get up in your personal business.
Is there no real problems in society that we need to do something about before we go after smokers.
just a point I think it is funny that ppl Will tell me i am a bad person to smoke in a car with kids when those same ppl problem would not help a women screaming for help. like they tell women yell fire.
I guess if there is smoke ppl will do something.
to all you ppl who think this is a good law and something deserves our time. I'm just say maybe we should solve the pedophile. hunger and gun related death problems before we bother smokers.
take a reality check

And I thought Maine's Smoke Free Agenda was bad? At least they haven't, AS YET, gotten into my home and automobile with their second hand smoke paranoia, but I'm sure they're working on it.
No Smoking in any work place or public facility, including bars, beano halls, casinos - also including outdoor stadiums and ball parks, or within 50 feet of hospitals, and on and on it goes..
NOTE: Cigarettes here are over $5.00 a pack, thanks to a $2.00 per pack state tax enacted last year - but, God forbid, the alchohol tax stayed the same.
I can only assume we have more drunks than smokers in the legislature !

Let me think about this you can carry a loaded weapon in the glove box but don't get caught lighting up.
Yea some of the Parrish's in LA have unusual laws.
I'll bet the long term effect of roach spray is worse for children than the second hand smoke so lets do away with that also.
Think that'll happen?

I dont think smoking in the car with kids is a smart thing to do- but honestly, I think this type of legislation is over the top. are they going to have cigarette police riding around? Is this possibly another way to generate revenue, by adding additional possible tickets to people?
