because there's sin in the world and not everybody knows Jesus. We christians have gotta learn to stand up for Jesus no matter what others say or do to us.

Because Jesus said "In this world you will have trouble."
Also I remember reading in the bible that those who are christians, are the only one who will agree with you and respect you. If they are not christians they will not love and respect you. Something on the lines of those basis.

Because many of us who love Jesus tend to knock other people over the head with our Bibles.
We need to earn respect and to be respectful. Really, really.

Do you feel disrespected because people question your beliefs? Why are you so sensitive about this?
If you participate in open forums like this one you have to expect that people will express their honest opinion. If they think you are deluded they have a right to say so. If you are confident in your faith it should not be a problem for you.
As some other respondents have commented, you must also accept that respect is a two-way street.
Here in America we non-believers are in a minority and we are really made to feel it. We have to fight a perpetual battle to protect rights that are supposedly guaranteed by the Constitution. We have governments interfering in personal moral decisions. We get bulk e-mails from well-meaning friends that insult our ontelligence. And we get chastized for not working on Christian holidays.

People should respect others peoples beliefs period. Regardless if you agree with them or not. If you love Jesus great, If you love Budda Cool. You have the right to think what you want. As long as you don't push your beliefs onto someone else.

People are afraid of being held accountable for their actions! Man wants to be sinful and not have to pay a price for the sins he commits.
The Holy Spirit convicts man of his sinfulness, man does not want to be judged.
Jesus is Holy and sinless, the opposite of man. Man does not like what Jesus stands for; man strikes out at Christianity. It makes man look in the mirror of Life and Death!!! Man does not like what he sees; That he is sinful and needs A Savior, Salvation can only come through Jesus! Man refuses to admit this because it makes him accountable for the way he lived his life.

Because you're making the world a dumber, more dangerous and unhappier place for everyone by insisting, through either begging or force, that your feelings, hallucinatory and/or imaginary experiences are proof of your parents religion and therefore we ought to ignore reality, the advances in science and psychology, and return to the Dark Ages.

Because too many Christians harass non-Christians too much. Jesus never converted a single sinner with whining harassment.
The only way to convert anyone is to SHOW Jesus by example and they will ASK YOU to help them find the way. Talk is cheap, fix your own life.

I love jesus but i also see a lot of christians that arent respectful
to those who dont beleive. you need to look from both sides of the fence you know. read these questions and see how much negativaty is here
