Surviving basic is about handling stress. Reporting in the best shape you can helps lower that stress, but it's not a must.
Running, push ups, & sit ups are the basics of what you'll be doing.

I was in the Navy. It was awhle ago and unless they got tougher. Its a cake walk. Running a mile and a half, push ups and sit ups. And I was out of shape when I went in. You'll be fine.

Lots of running, push-ups, and sit ups. Also eight count body builders. Self destructs are fun too. But mostly the first three.
