with so many religions beliving in diffrent gods and differant ways to worship him, how do you know which one is true? for example ask a jew and he will say his god is the true god and there way is right, ask a christian and he will say the same thing about his religion.... they all have asmuch faith in there god as the next religion and all is based on a book called the bible. is differant religions just differnt peoples view on this book? if so how do you know your religion has it right over any other religion?

thats okay lots of people ask this kind of question. There is nothing wrong with asking something you want to know. Some seperate religions are just different viewpoints on the same thing....like you said. But some are entirely different and don't use the Bible at all. You can find the true religion by miracles. Strange things happen....things you know are more than mere coincidence. I believe it is divine intervention. Look for these. Not the bad stuff either some people use their faith to make unwholsome things occur. But look for healings, rain in lands facing drought, check out what is going on with the water in Fiji. Then look behind the curtain. Best of luck or rather may God guide you to the true path.
......test the waters....

The religion (or faith) that worships the creator of the universe and requires that its worshippers live as the creator desires is the true one.
Start this way. When we decide something is good, we are touching the nature of God within us. Love, for instance. We know and accept that love is good, so it must be of God. Look at other things like this. There you have a description of God's nature.
Look around you. If you accept that God exists and is the creator of everything, what does His creation tell you about Him?
Next, bring in reason. Look at the religions and faiths of the world. Which of these match the understanding you now have of God?

All religion is just scratching the surface of TRUTH. In the beginning there was no religion, only a constant walk with God. If you study you will find that what Jesus did was not about religion necessarily even though he lived a religious Jewish faith. He was the only one to this day that was able to fulfill the Jewish Law. It was not a religion either but a lifestyle. What Jesus did was to bring back to man the availability to walk with God as originally intended, therefore as a lifestyle and not a religion. When you walk in the lifestyle of Jesus, the Holy Spirit is with you and helping you follow the manufactures instructions to a successful human experience. That is what was intended for all humans. So we have the manufactures Spirit living in the body with us. We have the scriptures, (Bible), as a guide book, and we have the five fold ministry to give us the spoken word for confirmation about the things God is speaking to our spirits about. How can we loose and WHY, would you need a religion? All of your needs for success are in the package.

Well, there are many religions that are based on different views of the bible. But, there is only one true religion. I know that for sure. I am LDS, and know that this is the true faith. I have prayed to God and received personal revelation from him through the Holy Ghost that this is the true religion. You need to ask him for yourself to find out which is the true religion.

Whether my religion has it over all other religions or not is not the question. Do I have the faith required to follow my religion as my God expects me? That is the question. I know my God says that I shall put no other Gods before Him and I certainly going to follow that request. You do what you want. When we pass over to the other side, we will find out if we are right or not.

What one believes to be their TRUE religion is their TRUE religion. No one will know any truths as proven to others until we are on the other side, until then we all only have a hope that what we believe to be TRUE is in fact true. Personally I think a good judge of it is how much it is talked about....ie, those that go around preaching hell fire and damnation to passers by......those that get upset because their spouse isn't "saved".....all those bumper stickers plastered on their cars.......its the quiet ones, the ones that stick to themselves, the ones that don't advertise....those are the ones that I think have truly been touched by the light...it humbles them, scares them a bit. I think when you have felt Gods love and his power of vengeance it goes through you and leaves you changed.....you dont' worry about other peoples salvation......you know who has all the power.

ISLAM is the only true religion because from the begining of Islam, AlMighty Allah has sent us the holy book called ' The Quran', nothing has been changed since begining and lives in the heart of most of Muslims. Even a 7 years old muslim child has full knowledge of the Quran.

All religions have truths and illusions. In my opinion by following no religion but taking the truths you see from each helps you to become objective enough to see more of the truth. By believing any string of doctrines without question is an intellectually dangerous place to be. This is what I call selling your intellectual soul for existential comforts.
By being an independent thinker with no religious affiliations, without throwing the baby out with the bathwater, you will become all that much closer to enlightenment.

Many comments made to this question is one of the main reasons I left Christianity... Christians are "so absolute" that theirs is the truth... And anyone who is not "saved" by Jesus is doomed for hell. I am so frickin' sick of hearing Christians saying that theirs is the only way... oh really. The why the heck are you putting more effort in to reaching a "lost world" for Jesus. Why are you so busy trying to impress everyone else with your suit and dresses at Easter... Why are you consumed by where you will eat lunch after service than letting the Word of God penetrate your heart and mind resulting in a changed life. Why aren't you as passionate about studying to show yourself approve... Why aren't you constent in your prayerlife... Why do you look down on the dirty kids who ride the church bus while you drive to church in a Lexus. Why are you willing to spend God's money on trivial things like a chandelier for the sanctuary and not on eternal things like sponsoring a missionary. I would think if yours was the truth your life would be proof enough... oh wait it is... I have come to find that most churches are nothing but glorified country clubs. There is no power in them. There is no desire to know Christ and to make him known to others. Any Christian who tries to debate me on this must know that I served years as a minister... I became very sick of pouring myself into the work of the church and for what... To see the people I ministered to could care less about the things of God. So I decided if I was going to waste my Sundays... I might as well do it at home. If there were a God, he would have to certainly be sick at the condition of his church. So friends if you insist that you have the one true religion and you serve the one true God.... THEN LIVE LIKE IT'S TRUE OTHERWISE SHUT YOUR D@MN MOUTHS!

How to Identify the True Religion
LOGICALLY there must be just one true religion. This is in harmony with the fact that the true God is a God, “not of disorder, but of peace.” (1 Corinthians 14:33) Furthermore, Jesus Christ spoke of those who practice such religion as worshiping God “with spirit and truth,” and truth is never at disagreement with itself. (John 4:23, 24).
See for yourself which religion today is having order, peace and its followers are worshipping God with Spirit & Truth.
