when you break up with a person, do you tell them that there is someone else? My ex boyfriend broke up with me..he basically said there was another girl, that he had a crush on her since sophmore year of high school and he is in college now. He said that he was not going to let her get away again...I thought to myself...you dont say that to ur girlfriend..well to the person ur breaking up with... What are your thoughts on this matter? I thought it was a rude thing to say...i feel that you should break up with a person and if there is someone else tell them... but dont confess that u are like in love love with this other person... What ya think?

I think that he was just being honest. If someone was breaking up with me I would want the honest truth as to why they were leaving me.

He shouldn't of said it was because of another girl. Though he thought being honest was the best thing to do. At least he could of had the decencies to tell you in a different way and not in a way that would hurt your feelings. He sounds like a total jerk. You don't need him. Move on. You will meet someone better than that fool. He is not worth losing time while you can be meeting different nice guys. Take Care!

Remember what comes around goes around. The girl he likes may dump him too!

Well I guess I would never say that when breaking up. I try to break up by giving the least amount of information possible so as not to hurt the other person's feelings. But if she keeps on asking specifically why I'm breaking up with her, I wouldn't lie about it.

You should probably feel good that he was at least honest with you. Feel rest assured that it truly is because of him and not you. He's had this mental hangup for a while now, so don't feel too bad about it. Try to pack up your emotions and move on to better things.

I think it was hurtful to you but at least you know exactly why you's broke up. You will have no question of why that happened. In a lot of break-ups there is no real reason for it so I feel it is best to know.He seemed like a honest guy though. Good luck on your other guy conquests! lol

I think it was in bad taste for him to say that to you. Well, at least he was honest. But yeah, maybe he should have said it differently, instead of admitting that he's been with you this whole time but has been into her! That really sucks, girl, I feel for you. That can be very hurtful when someone tells you something like that. Be strong!

I agree with you. What he said was wrong and insensitive. The person breaking up should try to keep it about the person he or she is breaking up with, and not add someone else. It only hurts the person more.

i think this guy you were with was an asshole, and ofcourse you don't tell the other person theres someone else that only cause problems. when breaking up with someone always just say it's not working out.

yea that was very inappropriate, theres a nice balance to how delicate things like that are done. but it is his loss, you shouldnt stay hung up on a girl if you're with a current girl. its very unfair and as you said. RUDE

depends on the type of breakup you had. was it difficult an fill with fights and tears? cos you could interpret what he said to you as a way of him trying to hurt you and trivialise the realtionship he had with you, that you meant nothing to him. on the other hand, if it was an easy mutual breakup, he could still see you as a close fiend. and he told you cos he still wants to be friends with you. make sense?

He was honest..so respect him..he could have just cheated on you and hurt you even worse...If there was someone you loved would you let them get away?

respect the move he made and you make one your self..move on.
