Do you mean that they are ignorant because they disagree with you? Perhaps they even have arguments that you don't have a good answer for, other than insisting that your answer is "truth"?

Just because the Bible is an old book and has been considered "Holy" for a long time does not make it true. Several things claimed in it are patently wrong, even though they were considered true by the people living at the time the Bible was written.

Heck, many of the "laws" of the Old Testament have supposedly been made null and void by Christ's death, but Christians can't seem to agree which ones were voided and which ones weren't.

If you argue that the Bible is true, and the only basis for your convinctions are the fear of "god" that some preachers managed to instill in you in the past, then your convictions are just quicksand, and no amount of Bible thumping on your part is going to change that.

People want to find answers for themselves. They're not going to believe something just because somebody tells them to.

And much of the Bible doesn't make sense. It contradicts itself, much of it is outdated, and the good parts are generally ignored. If every person who claimed to be a Christian acted in the same manner as Jesus Christ, the world would be a much better place. But many times, people harp on the unimportant things while ignoring the bigger message. If you want somebody to believe, you should start by showing them the truth, not telling it to them!

ignorance does not recognise truth! but you should not think that just because someone does not agree with you over the Bible teaching means the person is ignorant. See the other person's perspective too objectively if the other person is talking sense then that person is also right and you have the right to assume or presume what you have learnt is correct.
But there are other truths too in the world you know it is not just Bible all the way!!!

I grew up in Baptist churches, but I disagree on a lot of ministry strategies of ALL religions.

You can tell someone things about the bible, but they don't have to believe you, and when they don't, don't press the issue. It makes people angry. If a catholic came up to you and told you that you were wrong because you used birth control or something, and pressed the issue, you might get angry. If a Muslim person told you that you were ignorant because you didn't bow and face Mecca at whatever time of day, you might be a little offended. I hate how religions fight and fight. That's why I don't claim one.

Spirituality is a big thing for me, Religion is not.

Because all people love a great story

The Bible is full of them

some people take these stories tooo literally though and can't stand to see their images shattered.

They are incapable of accepting the fact that every human being is different . all having the capacity for good and evil.

so they walk around like kids believeing in he easter bunny and santa and tooth fairy

By the way i do beleive in God

It's religion I have a problem with sometimes.

You need to find common ground before you can have a valid discussion.

Many people do not believe the Bible is truth. Why don't you try researching other worldviews?
www.summit.org could be a starting place.

Doesn't Paul exhort us to be all things to all people? Did he not show that he understood the world around him when he preached on the unknown god?

If we are the ambassadors, it is our job to learn about the "country" where we are serving.

It's only true for you. I don't believe what you do and do not accept the bible as anything special or even remotely accurate. So quoting from it as your source of truth means nothing to me. Get it?

By the way -that's "ignorant"

Most of those people have been told certain things about "what the Bible says" since they were small children, and they are comfortable with what they were told. Until people will start doing critical, historical research on their own, there really doesn't seem like there is much hope. It's easier for them to believe the lies because "ignorance is bliss."

Because we have different beliefs than you do so by tell us we are worng we in turn say oh no we are not, your the one thats wrong!

Best way to be less ignorant is accept that other people have different opinions and beliefs than you do; it is not your place nor is it respectful in any shape or form to attempt to change another persons opinions/beliefs. It is often those that are ignorant that accuse others of being so.

My truth is mine, not yours.

LOL! Its human nature not to like being told that you are wrong. Haven't you learned that yet? That's the fastest way to throw a stumbling block in the way of your message. You turn people off instantly. You can't reason with people when you come at them without respect for who they are and what they believe.
