My GGGgreat grandfather Shepard Whitt originally from Kentucky born about 1795 is the furthest back I can get in that branch of my family. Are there any of his descendants who can help me find out Shepard's father's name?

I am not, but here are some web sites where you might strike up a conversation with a Whitt. The genforum has postings and responses. You can look for someone that has relation by reading the postings, or by posting your own - to an interested audience.
The last two postings - have to deal specifically with Rhoda Whitt, daughter of Shepard Whitt - and they are looking for someone to discuss with. Perhaps they have Shepard's parents, or maybe it is your posting. I cannot tell. Anyway, good luck.
