A huge bunker just 30 meters from the Lebanon /Israel border was built under the noses of UN "Observers." What were they doing? Observing? Did they not have a mandate to DOanything with the information after observing?

Most of the things they observed about Hezbolah, the didn't even report. UN observers aren't going to help anybody. They never have. They are useless.

I think Sri Vidya Rajgopalan has given the correct answer. But the Answer is very long. Let me explain you in short. Ram built a Bridge instead of ship because he thought, if in the war with Ravana more army of Varana is required then it will be easy to bring reinforcement through a Bridge Than to send ship.

and this is one of the problems with the UN turning a blind eye, but hey koffi anan needs more money so thats why the UN does nothing...he even turned a blind eye when hussein was using the money and food that was to go to the iraq ppl for his own use and selling the food. why do we think then the UN didn't turn a blind eye to the wmd problem....

My be they wanted to see how it's don so they my do the same thing themselves someday.To be more exact,The UN's job is deafens not an enforcer of wore or laws.They can't use force unles it is in deafens.

no,, they have limited weaponry,, their peacekeepers,, there to keep the peace,,, sure they will file the info,, in case the fighting starts again,, which if GWB has numbers falling to far,, he will seize the opportunity to make sure there is fighting somewhere,,,

They had no authority to intervene on either side.
