Humans are the only animal that routinely commits suicide, kills others for sport and consciously destroys the environment for profit.

There is little difference other than the destructive nature of humans.

Evolution will eventually correct the mistake and humans will cease to exist.

According to Islam, Man is different from animals, plant and other created beings because he has free will, the ability to choose.

Man was created into God's image. Man has the intellect and the power to think and free will. Man has a more complex human body and diff. organs and a brain which is different from others.

Read this, then read the original text again and compare.

God created this planet and its species, including homo sapiens, over 5 time periods. All “creatures” were created “AFTER ITS KIND” and able to “multiply” (procreate).

Then in the sixth time period Adam was created “AFTER OUR (God's) IMAGE”! Adam was created BY HIMSELF! He was given “God’s spirit”. Gen. 2:7-9, 16&17.
HE was created to live indefinitely within his special environment, the Garden of Eden. That’s why it was fatal for him to eat from the “tree of knowledge of good and evil”. Gen. 2:17. He had God's spirit and didn't know evil.

Eve was an afterthought so Adam would not be all by himself. Gen. 2:21,22

Meant to live indefinitely Adam and Eve did NOT NEED to procreate! They had no sense or ambition of sexuality. Gen. 2:25. They were not ashamed – innocent.

God gave them the power of choice, to obey his instructions or not.

After eating the forbidden fruit – also known as the “original sin” - they were sexually “activated” (Gen. 3:7-11 & 16) (they were ashamed!) and God had to change His plans for them. So Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden of Eden in order to KEEP THEM AWAY from the “tree of live” which could have sustained their life (and that of now possible offsprings) indefinitely - Gen. 3:22-24.

They were now condemned to live their life in the outside world and procreate like the “creatures” (Neanderthals & Co.) created before them. (Gen. 3:16) They now also were destined to die like them.

I’m not sure from the text if the “original sin” was engaging in sex or disobeying God’s command which resulted in mortality and the need of procreation. But either way we, the descendents have to live with it. So while sex for procreation is not a sin, sex just for pleasure and outside of marriage is considered a sin – as in: not in God’s plan.

Now read the original text in the Bible again!

There are thousands of differences. For example, no plants or animals can produce violins like we can.

to me, it seems man is the only species that just doesnt fit. there is a natural balance of nature and man has done nothing but screw it up. man is the only species with no survival instincts. i have yet to hear a rational reason why we are on this earth.

Unlike plants and other animals, human beings tell themselves they have "souls".

Yeah, I know, it's kinda sad.

Humans have the capacity to think about the long-term consequences of their actions instead of merely acting on instinct. It's too bad that most people never try to do it though.

Genesis tells us God said, Let US make man in OUR image.

Man....not fish, or cows.....Man is made in God's image. And God "Breathed" life into man. Breath...or wind...is the original word used when talking about the Holy Spirit.

At creation God imparted the Holy Spirit into man. Jesus did the same when in the Gospels He breathed on the Apostles and told them whatever sins you forgive are forgiven and what you retain is retained. And this is the only two times you ever see this in the entire Bible.

Mankind was given a soul and can also have the Holy Spirit dwell in them.
