you might try bouldering first if you want to climb alone. that won't get you that high of the ground, depending on what your bouldering.

I presume that you mean something other than free soloing.
Yes you can by top roping and then attaching a belay line, around you, to that top rope belay using a prussic knot, attachment to the rope.(or bachman knot or a varient of the two mentioned) You keep sliding the belay tape or cord with the knot up on the top rope belay-set up as you ascend.
There might be a mechanical jumar type device for belay rope attachment on the market by now.

i guess i have never rock climed so i dont really know but all i say is BE SAFE!!!

IF AN ACCIDENT OR EMERGENCY OCCURRED WHO WOULD BE THERE TO HELP U ?
