Buying bird toy parts in bulk has saved us hundreds of dollars a year, and then we only have to keep one expensive, unique toy in there at a time.

Some cheap, useful toy-parts are:
*Strips of undyed leather--dye used on tanned commercial leather usually isn't safe)
*100% cotton toys like rope and stuffed animals--synthetics can seriously block up his crop and kill him. Cotton is all I trust.
*A huge plastic box of vegetable-dyed wood shapes with pre-drilled holes in them, for $15 or $20 from (again) Foster and Smith for Birds.
*A giant box of birdie safe "foot toys" from the same place (online or catalog; catalog has more items) -- they also sell lead-free quicklinks to hang the toys

Amazons are prone to chunkiness, so you might want to avoid kabobs or other food toys. Manzita root perches will exercise his foot muscles, and help keep him trim, too.

Here's a Foster and Smith for Birds link:

We got our Amazon a small cowbell. He rings that thing all the time. His favorite aggression toy is a hard rubber dog chew toy that fastens to the side of his cage. When he's upset that toy really takes a beating.

They like swings, you can get rope swings that have toys hanging from them, they like balls that have a bell inside...chew toys for parrots.....just check out oyur local pet store. You could also rty misting him with warm water in a spray bottle. That keeps them busy grooming themselves. It is harmless. i have done it for years. ALso at night put a sheet over his cage. That will also help.
