Depends on what you like. If you are currently natural however want to try straight styles try pressing your hair and expermenting with different styles. If you want to see your hair short BEFORE you cut it ask your mother if you can try a few short styles in a weave to see if you like it. Try braids. With our hair you have many options and you are still young enough to try some to see what you like and don't like.
Some people prefer natural
some prefer relaxed
Just see what suits you during hte summer and go from there :)

i'm not african american but my friend in 8th grade always had the cutest hair i thought. Sometimes it was all braided down into cornrows, othertimes she had cornrows that led to 2 afro puff pigtails, and sometimes she just got weaves which was cute too. ask her what she likes

Braids, stylish of course. Twists, and basically where nothing is gelled down or too grown. Please leave the weaves and colors until she is older, like a senior in high school.

I would say curly! That would probably look good on you.. There are curling irons you can get for certain types of curls or you can get certain curling creams for your hair..
