i don't think we need to ban the christian holidays.
I think people such as yourself need to be more tolerant and need to learn how to relax and enjoy a day off from work or school.

Christmas, for the average person, isn't about the christian religion or about the pegan beliefs that it spawned from. It's about presents and family togetherness and mostly presents. Thanksgiving is a holiday spawned from hatred. Want to abandon it too? Because obviously the mass elimination of turkeys represents the elimination of the natives on our country.
The ACLU won't be able to ban Christmas because A. a good chunk of the government is christian and B. the country enjoys having 2-4 weeks off each year. The country, no matter how much you or i hate it, was founded on religious beliefs. If you don't like christmas you are welcome not to celebrate it. One day without shopping won't kill you.

ah yes another person that loves the root of all evil.MONEY.
If you Had taken the time to do a little research. you would have seen that yule (Pagan holy day) and CHRIST-MASS fall on different days . It sounds like you do not like the idea of not being able to go out shopping anytime you want/ There are stores that stay open on all holidays no matter what religion has them. If you are a shopkeeper and don't like closing down for them then get an all atheist shop of workers and have them work all year round so you won't lose money or be inconvenienced by the store that you want to shop at being closed for a religious Holiday.
hum seems I've answered you question before in a different form.Yes the Old Testament is full of what you describe. but if you read from the beginning you Will see that mankind's Idea of God has changed as time has moved on. from a temper tantrum throwing God to one of love and forgiveness. After all God made made our souls from his own body and will want them back on the day of Judgment. And everything Else that he created including your money.

The Bible does have stories such as you have described, so do history books that children study in school, so does the news
and perhaps even in the cartoons your children watch These discuss slavery, hatred, wars, violence. What is the difference?
The Bible also has stories of love and faith. Take for example King David. He committed adultery with Bathsheba, true, but Jehovah forgave him his sin. Another example in the New Testament. Christ spoke of love and kindness and turning the other cheek. He said, "Love one another." "Let your light so shine." He taught meekness and love and obedience.
I know you are not going to beleive me, and I can understand that, but this nation was built upon Christan beliefs and principles. To take away from this nation, the very building blocks that it was built upon, would be to destroy it. And this country would no longer promote the freedoms that you and your children enjoy.
The founders of this nation believed in God. They believed in Jesus. They would pray before sitting down in the Constitutional Convention that brought forth the Constitution of America.
The Bible has bad things in it. It also has a lot of good. Life has a lot of bad in it. It has a lot of good. If you don't want your kids exposed to the bad in the Bible. You may not want them exposed to the news or life itself.
I understand that everyone has freedom of speech and opinion, but the voice of the few, should never overrule the voice of the many.
In 10 years, I am absolutely positive that Christians and Christianty will still be around.
I am a Christian. I wouldn't have it any other way. I know that Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal King of heaven and earth. He is my Savior, my Redeemer. I have an unshaken faith and belief in Him and his Atonement for the sins of men. I know He will come again as he promised. This is my faith. This is my testimony. This I know.
God bless YOU!!!!! Always and Forever

actually, i really think that you are an idiot for bringing the ACLU into your little war against christmas.
christmas is not apagan celebration...the winter solstice is..
believe me i am Pagan and i believe that i know my holidays.
christmas was placed over the pagan celebration to try to wipe it out, but we just put our traditions into the holiday and the christian church has spread our customw all over the world.
thanks guys, it is nice to see the solstice celebration going on the world over...
ANYhoo
you will not get anywhere by trying to regulate the holidays of one religion or another. only by seeking equal treatment for your own religion will you accomplish anything.
and your statement about stores being closed in christmas causeing a lack of income.....do you have any idea of american economics...NO you do not or you would not have made this statement..if it was not for the holiday gift buying season 70 percent of american businesses would go under. only the mega stores like walmart would survive and they would have to cut labour costs to do it. most businesses make 2/3 of their yearly income between black friday and christmas eve.
as far as kids being out of school...they go to school 180 days a year with weekends and some holidays off and 90 days in the summer. the 5 days off for christmas is not causeing any lack in education so that arguement is busted.
as for stopping religion....christianity in paticulat...people been saying that since Jesus was born,,has not happened yet.
oh well it is plain to see you are either a troll looking for a fight of just another un-educated person that thinks that they can use the constitution of this country to further your preferance....
we are guaranteed freedom of religion not freedom from religion.
....oh i almost fogot i am Pagan not christian...i do not want any confusion there

Here in Australia Christmas is during the Summer holidays, so no one would be in school anyway. I agree with you that Christian holidays have no place as public holidays, but what if we moved the day slightly and said it was just a public holiday to mark the longest day of the year (or the shortest depending where you are).

April, unbeknownst to so very many Christians.... Christmas is more beneficial frequently than not Pagan in foundation. Jesus changed into not born in December, the church placed it there because of Solstice celebrations. Solstice celebrations were not about faith (for the most area) they were about the returning of longer and days which meant they could plant flora quickly. in spite of all that, that's a commercial holiday immediately and that's in simple terms "professional" in that that's on calendars. that's not mandatory to get off paintings or something of the form. no one HAS to celebrate it. maximum places decorate "chuffed vacation trips" now fairly besides, because different religious vacation trips fall round a similar top time of 365 days. No twist of destiny. they are on our calendar besides.

no one really agrees with you...not only do church goers celebrate there are others too ..hey you dont have to celebrate if you dont want to..no one is making you..so why try to ruin it for the rest us.??.well if this does happen you really wont "ruin" it because i can bet you anything millions and millions will still celebrate it including me...its been a tradition for hundreds of years..hey hanika(how ever you spell) are celebrated by many people... i dont even know any thing about..that day is like any other day..so i just dont celebrate it ..it doesnt bother me so why should it bother your crazy ***?? why would i make something soooo little into a big deal..?? i wouldnt gain anything by it..80% percent of companys have happy chrismas...yet millions still say MERRY chistmas...merry is the same as happy so why change it?? its not 'MARY CHRISTAMAS'... SO WHY WORRY ABOUT IT...in the bible it specifically talks about people trying to get in and change things....and people like you are making the world end faster.. think about the future children and families..we all should make the world a better place instead people like you waste there times on the little things when thereare killings, raping, molesters and burgluries out there to worry about...you definitly need JESUS..so go to a local church and accept JESUS as your lord and savior..and turn your life around because when judgement day comes you will regret the way you lived and the things you did...and them you will remember that i have warned you..you dont care now but i swear you will wish you had listened....GOD BLESS YOU...stop wasting your time stop making the little things BIG
I TOO AM CHRISTIAN... I BELIEVE IN GOD AND HIS SON AND HOLY ANGELS AND THE GREAT AND MIGHTY LOVE GOD GIVES ME AND I WILL STAY AND FEEL THIS WAY FOREVER..GOD IS OFFERING ME EVERLASTING HAPPINESS AT THE END AND I DEFINITLEY WONT PASS THAT UP...I LOVE HIM GREATLY...AND I AGREE WITH MANY OF THE OTHERS THAT ARE ON MY SIDE AND NOT YOURS

You know what, I dont believe your "Question" has anything to do with Christmas. The way you ramble with your subject strongly suggests that you simply have a HUUUUUUUGE chip on your shoulder about Christians. Be honest with us and yourself, whats your real beef. Christmas might not be agreed to by all sectors of the community, but it is a good and happy time, genuinely so. Your arguments really dont come close to justifying your venom for it, so what have you really got sticking in you?!

Seperation of church and state doesn't mean you can't celebrate. In terms of it being a government holiday, fine, ban christmas, will just call it the holidy season and get all of december of from work, Muhahahahahahahaha.

Dude...still venting over losing that girl who frenched kissed you or what?
First of all, Yule and Ostara are Pagan holidays, not Christian. The Christians took them over to try to convert Pagans and so them gave them new names.
So, your whole "lawsuit" is based entirely on false premise to begin with.
My advice?
Go find that girl who kissed you and make up. You'll feel a lot better. Cheers.
