Exactly.

Without religion none of these political fiasoes would exist, saving lives.

-The crusade war.
- WWII
- 9/11
- Beheadings in Iraq (religion says kill those who do not believe)
- Religion fanatics on killing sprees

You can't imagine how many lives would be saved if it wasn't for religion.

Then there are the usual arguments. It just won't stop.

Therefore, religion causes more problems.

No matter how much FAITH you have, you cannot prove these statements to be wrong.

Yes, because without religion there would be no violence or any of the actions that lead up to violence (pride, fear, envy, greed, etc.)

We'd all be dancing in circles similar to the day dream Lionel Hutz had on the Simpsons when imagining a world without lawyers.

yeah right!

If people didn't use religion as an excuse to justify their actions (when they are wrong) they'd just use something else. For example: Politics, Socialism, Communism, Marxism, Pride of Country, Racial prejudice/pride, Money, Sex, Drugs.....

etc. etc. etc.

Can you imagine that people, although maybe their actions were wrong, were in fact fighting for something good? We have to fight for our freedoms don't we? Admit we do. Those who didn't want to live a moral life, but indeed lusted after money and power didn't just say: we'll leave and start our own community. Some did. Most said: We'll overthrow THIS community.

It would be a nice world if the people in Gaza and Israel could simply accept the divisions in their land (especially since many of the muslims were originally part of the jews and converted). Yet one side pushes the other.

To blame religion or anything else other than ourselves, and to accept responsiblity for our own actions is pride and it is a lie to yourself and others.

p.s. It was Karl Marx who said, "Religion is the opiate of the masses". He was saying it in a negative way, but he didn't understand the positive environment it can create. He was right, it does affect us as a drug. It gives us a natural high in which to live our life.

The WORLD would be better off with out religion, right?

If there was no religion, the WORLD would have been much better off.

No HOLOCAUST.

No RELIGIOUS Segregation.

Just united PEOPLE.

The difference between your question and my copy of your question is there are no spelling errors in mine. All the capitalilzed words are correctly spelled. Stay in school and off the drugs and alcohol. At least don't ask questions when you're stupid and stoned.

Not really. Where would a lot of rules and ethics come from? People would just kill for no reason whatsoever. There would still be wars to conquer land. More people would be power hungry, and kill random people to get it. A lot more teens would be having kids. There probably won't be as many laws. Sure there would be no holocaust or religious segregation, but I don't see how there would be as much moral ethics.

It's Holocaust, my dear. :)
Everyone needs something to believe in, whether it's religion, a mantra, or a person.
Besides, if there was no religion, I'm sure that we'd have people living without some sort of moral core...some religions keep people honest and having guidelines for living.

Even if there was no religion... people would still try to find something to believe in and it will eventually grow into something like a religion... so even if we were to somehow make all religions disappear, somehow new ones will form or old ones will rise again... I call it an endless cycle... and it will be followed by the stupid people who do stupid things cuz of religion... not saying that all things people do related to religion is stupid... but there are some people who are so brainwashed by religion that they would do anything that they are told by it...

YES RELIGON SENDS A MAN TO HELL BUT CHRISTIANITY GIVES A PERSON THE RIGHT TO GO TO HEAVEN, EVEN AN ATHEIST IS RELIGIOUS, THEY BELIEVE THERE IS NO GOD
Ps:14:1: The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Yeah, I think we would be way better off without religion.....Religion has been a cruel task master to show us how much we really want peace.

I just read over the comments and there are some really rude, hateful people....where is the compassion?

Sometimes I think no organized religion would be a great thing. All wars start like this...."my god is better than your god, and if you don't believe what I do, I will forget about that 'thou shall not kill' part and i'll shoot you."
Ok....so that was pretty simplistic, but you get the idea.
But the flip side is....religion brings guilt and the fear of something bad happening if you don't behave.

So in my strange opinion, without religion, we would have no wars, but more people would steal TVs.

I don't think so. Human have a basic behaviour like greedy, anger and hate. They have their own interest and will hit each other. Now they have religion as ego tool. So if there is no religion. humans will find another form of organization that could support their bad habits and ego.
