i have a double yellow headed amazon and was wondering what brand/kind of food i should buy for him the stuff at my pet shop food looks like it for finches but they swear it for amazon. but they also said that they would special order a brand for me so any1 have any ideas he need the bigger chunk food for his bigger beak. thank you

You should have your Amazon parrot on a good quality pelleted food. Mine eat Harrison's, but there are other brands on the market such as ZuPreem and Tropican.

You should also give your parrot a small amount of large parrot mixed seeds daily and various mixed fresh or if unavailable, frozen vegetables such as greens, carrots, sweet potatoes, bell peppers, beans and corn. Parrots like brown rice, pasta, cooked dried beans as well. You can also feed your Amazon fresh fruits such as apples and bananas. Fruits are high in sugar, so only feed them a couple times a week.

No avacados, no cafeine, no dairy products, no chocolate, no high fat foods like McDonald's fries.
