Twist it around my finger twice, and stick a pencil through it.

Those small plastic, claw-like, clamp hair holders work well. I twist my hair into a ponytail, high on the back of my head, then secure it at the base with one of those holders. The top of the "pony tail" can flop down over the holder for a casual/messy/fun pulled up look.

If your hair is layered and you want it all back, you may have to use a few bobby pins to secure the loose pieces. That can be a kind of cool effect, though, to have a few stray pieces.

If your hair is fine, try a spray on, called Texture. You should be able to find it or something similar at a salon. It gives your hair more texture to grab onto, so it can hold an up do.

Have fun.

Good luck.

If its long enough to braid, braid it and stick in a clip. Sometimes shorter hair can be french braided. I usually do what helzabet does, except I twist it until it goes like a bun and, instead of a pencil, I use decorated chopsticks from Chinatown.

If your hair is straight, using a curling iron helps too.

I just lean back til my hair all falls back then i kinda guide it with my hands into a pony tail and wrap a scrunchi around it. or sometimes i do the same thing like i'm going to do a pony tail but i keep winding and twisting the tail and then finally wind it into a bun then put the scrunchi around that

according to your avatar your hair looks short. I never use hair products, just cus i like the natural look over gel look. But if your having trouble, try hair clips or bobby pins. a claw clip may help too

I do mine like in my avatar picture... I'll usually flat iron my hair and my bangs to the side and then put it up with little hair things or scrungie.. Or sometime's when I don't feel like flat ironing my whole head i'll put my hair in a bun and then flat iron just my bangs and have them on the side.. Or i'll put all my hair back and with my bangs i'll have a bobby pin and put my bangs back and puff them up alittle I think that looks great.

Are you asking about a simple ponytail or an up-do?

Ponytail....1. Brush hair straight back pull up to center of head and secure with ponytail holder.
2. Flip head upside down brush hair, pull hair together with one hand and secure with ponytail holder.
3. For extra body and curl in your ponytail, hot roll first, then pull up and secure.
4. For a low ponytail, brush hair straight back , hold at the top of your neck and secure.
Up-do......1. Hot roll hair, brush hair up and place in ponytail, place curls and secure with bobbie-pins.
2. Twist...can hot roll, brush back, hold at top of neck, begin to twist and secure with bobbie-pins as you go up, leave curls at top to hang loose or secure in place with pins.

bend over and pull your hair all together and lift up and tie with a scrunchy. if that doesnt work, i also brush the top of my head into a pony tail and work my way down to the bottom. don't forget to spray. try putting it up when its wet or wet it yourself if your hair doesn't get too poofy.

I love throwing it up in a messy bun or half of it pulled back in a clip to keep my hair out of my face.
