We have a 3 year old jack russel (female) who is house trained and has been for a long time now . . . lately she has peed in the house EVERY DAY!!! Sometimes she does it when we are sleeping, other times when we leave the house and dont put her in her crate. We've been having the neighbors puppy (male) and another dog (male) over lately . . . could she be marking her territory? or is she mad that other dogs are at her house? She plays with the two dogs, doesn't seem to dislike them at all. We've decided to put her in her crate at night so she doesn't pee.

WHY IS SHE DOING THIS!?!?!?
How can we stop it?
How should we punnish her to correct her?

She's mad that other dogs are in the house and she's marking her territory. My dog would poo in our closet when my husband and I would "ignore" her. He's in the Army and rarely home, so when i did see him, we ignored Alexis, so to get back at us, the little B@%*h would poo in the closet. Good Luck. Puting in the crate is a great idea because you are then re enforcing the rules and "laying down the law" so to speak. When she pees just put her nose in it, tap the bridge of her nose, and say bad. but to counter the bad, whenever she goes potty outside, you need to praise her. again, good luck!

Dog Peeing In House Suddenly

If your attention and playtime with her hasn't changed, then I'd say you're right about her attitude towards the other dogs. I would start at square one with housetraining.

First clean all her messes with a good enzyme cleaner to remove the smell.

Go back to keeping her crated when you're not around. Treat her like a puppy - don't let her out of your sight. You need to catch her in the act of soiling in the house, that is the key! Then startle her with a loud "no" or loud noise, and immediately get her butt outside and praise her LOTS when she continues peeing outside. Give treats.

If she soils the carpet when you're not looking, the opportunity is lost. Just clean it up and better luck next time. Don't bother scolding her after the fact, she won't understand.

Frustrating I'm sure! But I think if you go back to the basics it shouldn't take long. Also talk to your vet about the possibility of some kind of infection or virus that could be causing it.

Dogs can all go through this faze. I had a female cocker that peed like crazy all of the time everywhere and on everyone. When she was about two years old, it suddenly stopped. You might take her to the vet to see if she has a urinary infection or problem. Some people will tell you that spaying will help... THAT IS A LIE! As for correcting this behavior, use good cleaners where she usually goes, try using a spray bottle on her when you see her, and use the crate as punishment for bad behavior.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://biturl.im/aU7Ex

A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

Thats probably exactly why she was on Craigslist! You just relieved someone of their problem with her. White carpet with a dog pottying on it? No Way. She most probably will not change. Is she crate trained? Thats about the only option I see in trying to train her, if its possible. Good Luck! :)

has ur dog been fixed?? sometimes female dogs that have been fixed tend to loose control of their bladder.
it could also be that the other dogs are intruding on her property and it is upsetting to her. or maybe she is going into heat

Dogs are territorial, and if you have other dogs in the house, that's your answer.
