try Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD) in downtown Toronto
also, international academy of design and technology is well known

and if u're looking for studying it as a hobby only, u can always pick courses at george brown college (i'm not sure how good it is for professional designer-to-be because they have part time certificate programs only) ... but do check it out

In some aspects it is, however GTA has a much higher population density as compared to Los Angeles area. Also Greater Los Angeles has mountains, where as Toronto has some hills, but nothing too high. The mountains in LA restrict where one can build, while in Toronto the hills don't really get in the way of building. Also the mass transit in the Toronto area is much better than what you find in Los Angeles.

Sheridan College -> http://interiordesign.sheridaninstitute.ca/ I have seen some of the work the students do and it is impressive. It is approx $1200 a term from what I remember plus books and material. I have also heard good things about Fanshawe College (London, Ontario).
