Here's a breakdown (for most colleges, anyways):
4.0 = A or A+
3.67 = A-
3.33 = B+
3.0 = B
2.67 = B-

It is completely different from school to school. Your percentage determines your letter grade, and your letter grade determines your GPA. So it all depends on your grading scale, and then A = 4.0 A- = 3.66 B+ = 3.33 B = 3.0 etc...

Actually it depends on your school. Some schools go to 4.0 others go higher. For 4.0 standard, 3.5 would equal A- or approx 80%.

an "A" is 4.0, "B" is 3.0, "C" is 2.0, "D" is 1.0, "F" is zero. The "3.5" is like a solid "B".
GPA is measured by taking the average of the all the grades recieved, taking into account credit weighting. So if someone has two classes both worth three credits, and gets one "A" and one "B", that person will end up with an overall average of "B".

: 3.83= A, 3.67= A, 3.33= B+, 3.00= B, 2.67= B-, 2.33= C+, 2.00= C, 1.67= C-, 1.33= D+, 1.00= D, 0.67= D-, below 0.67= F.
This is how my teacher has broken it down. It would be an A-, anything above 3.33 is an A
