firstly he is an inch away from death, so he wouldn't have made it to an oasis. Secondly why would he order a bowl of soup? Why not water, it's free and he probably doesn't have any money on him? the answer is probably a simple one but i don't know it. When you find out could you please send it to me? Thanks

While starving in the desert, someone offered him a buzzard soup. He ate it, but he somehow suspect that it was not buzzard but human soup. Now in the cafe he tasted the buzzard soup and it was the same as the one he had in the desert. So he said "thank God"

The man is blind..
He was in the desert with a relative/friend..
The relative/friend didnt make it..
During his trial in the desert, he had to eat what he thought was buzzard, but feared that he may have eaten the remainders of his relative/friend..
By eating buzzard soup, he realizes that he did not resort to cannibalism earlier, and is grateful for it..

Um... cuz he's religious?
Or maybe, thank God, because he's dead. For the reflection in the soup bowl is his own. And thus he is the buzzard's stew.
In other words, I have no idea.

It might have something to do with the buzzard, I don't think there are any buzzards in the Sahara. So......? Am I on the right track?

Because he is starving to death and she has some tasty stew for him? Is this a riddle or just a well timed bowl of soup?

I guess because buzzards live in wooded hillsides. So if there's buzzard in the area, then the man must be out of the desert.
When u get the correct answer from your teacher, please post it.
