My favorite Apostle is Paul because he called himself the worst of sinners and the least of all of the Apostles and because He told us to follow him as he followed Christ in sufferings and afflictions for the cause of the gospel.

"Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am even more: in labors far more, in beatings immeasurably, in imprisonments far more, in deaths often. By the Jews five times I received forty stripes minus one. Three times I was beaten with rods; once I was stoned; three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I have spent in the depth of the sea. In journeys often, in dangers of rivers, in dangers of robbers, in dangers from my own race, in dangers from the Gentiles, in dangers in the city, in dangers in the wilderness, in dangers in the sea, in dangers among false brothers; in labor and hardship, in sleepless nights often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness-- apart from what I leave unmentioned, what comes against me daily: the anxiety for all the churches. Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is caused to stumble, and I do not burn with indignation? If I must boast, I will boast about the things concerning my weakness. 2 Corinthians 11:23-30

The apostle Paul was called by the Lord Jesus Christ from heaven. Galatians 1: 11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. Galatians 1: 12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. He was sent to the gentles with a new gospel.Romans 11: 13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office: Romans 15: 16 That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost. He was given the revelation of the mystery. Romans 16: 25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, He was the apostle that was given the dispensation of grace. Ephesians 3: 2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:

Peter because he took leaps of faith beyond what I think he knew he was even capable of---and what a leap of faith it was getting off the boat to walk on water.....the only natural man to EVER have done such a feat.
I use this passage as an example to follow whenever I am lacking faith so that's the main reason I choose Peter.
Paul seemed like an awesome believer as well.

Peter. He was such a practical man--feet well planted on the earth--and yet had immense faith in and love for Jesus, who was so utterly different from him. The two of them are just so...interesting together.

I know that people mean well, but Paul was not one of the twelve apostles.

Saul - Paul

His life is amazing. He hated and persecuted Christians. He was a scholar and leader.

He came to write the largest section of the NT through the grace of God, proving that no sin can separate us from Christ's love.

St. Peter, because he was the Rock Upon which Our Lord Built His Church.

The Papacy is traced all the way back to St. Peter.

Paul.

He was a no-nonsense leader who took a lot of garbage from a lot of people and yet continued in the faith as strong as ever.
