There where three wise men that came far from the east and brought him gifts when he was a baby. Those men left him a legacy that years later was made note of, so don't it stand to reason he could have possibly sought out the wisdom of the wise men from the east after he came of age? The Bible is so simular to eastern beliefs and the teachings of Jesus are so clearly simular to Budist and Hindo teachings.

Who knows? But I do not think there really is evidence of direct Indian religious influence in the gospels.

All abrahamic religions are based on ancient Persian religion of Zoroastrianism. Early chrisanity directly through Mithraism, and indirectly through Judaism. The vedic, early Hindus, also originated in Indo-persia...the caste system was designed to keep the lighter skinned invaders in control. And ofcours, all the cultures were influenced by the ancient Indo-european wanderers.

So, probably hindiusm did not influence Christianity, but they were both influenced by the same ancient persian religions.
