You can put a lot of things in hamburgers. Anything like spinach, mushrooms, cheese, onions, and spices. One way to do it is mix whatever you'd like in with the hamburger meat and just shape your patties as usual. Another way is to measure out the amount of meat you want in your burger, divide it and make 2 patties. In the middle of one of the patties put your mixture * I personally like mixing onion and shredded cheese* then take the other pattie and place on top.Seal up the edges well and cook until done. If you want specific recipes, I have a few I could send you. Just contact me through my profile page and I'll be happy to send them to you.

To make stuffed patties, you have to use two patties, and put what you like inside. Personally, I'd put in some chili and cheese, mmm (then again that's mainly added on top of the burger). You could add your favorite veggies inside it, it's great to have a burger with a hint og veggie taste while eating veggies at the same time with a hint of burger.

It could have been a veggie burger..those are yummy!
I have added chopped onions & garlic to ground beef before forming the patties..turns out pretty good..just use a small amount of onion and finely chop it or the burgers fall apart. Im sure you could dice bell peppers and cook them before adding it to the meat too

Mushrooms, onions, and salsa are all things I've put in burgers. Also if you like pepper, try using whole peppercorns. Soak them for a couple of hours first to moisten them up. One of the posts above mentioned eggs. This is to help hold the patty together while it cooks on the grill.

Well I make burgers kind of like a meat loaf.
I mix in an egg or two, some chopped onions I break up some crusty bread, put in salt, pepper and a dash lf cinnamon, mix it all together, cover the outside of the patty with wondera flower and fry it up in a pan.

I suppose you can experment and try other things in it like a little chopped up celery.
Graham Keer once did a recipe with a pimento olive (green ones) frozen inside a small ball of water and then placed inside the burger before cooking.

I have heard of putting in eggs that have been whisked in a bowl into the centre of a patty for added moistness of the burger as well as onion soup mix into the beef for added zip

I use Liptons onion soupmix. We also use Kellogs special K all ground up like bread crumbs. You can put just about anything but when using cereal add a beaten egg to your mixture as this acts as a binding agent & keeps your patties from falling apart.

Stuffed Cheese Burgers
Makes 6 servings
Ingredients
1-1/2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese (about 6 ounces)
1 can (2-1/4 ounces) chopped black olives, drained
1/8 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1-3/4 pounds ground beef
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
6 whole wheat hamburger buns
Butter or margarine, melted
Combine cheese, olives and hot pepper sauce; mix well. Divide mixture evenly and shape into 6 balls. Mix ground beef with onion, salt and pepper; shape into 12 thin patties. Place a cheese ball in center of 6 patties and top each with a second patty. Seal edges of each patty to enclose cheese ball. Lightly oil grid. Grill patties, on covered grill, over medium-hot KINGSFORD® Briquets 5 to 6 minutes on each side or until done.
Split buns, brush with butter and place cut-sides down on grill to heat through. Serve on buns.

Try adding chopped onion, garlic powder, chopped parsley ,and egg to help bind the burger. You can also add TVP - textured vegetable protein moistened in savory broth.
If you are grilling them put on the grill while partially frozen if you like the center on the rare side and you are sure of the quality and freshness of the beef.

Apart from the Lipton French Onion there is also Lipton Vegetable Soup Mix. Also, chopped muchrooms and onions work well mixed in. A friend told me diced eggplant (aubergine?) mixed in can be very tasty, but I've never tried that.
