As a retired Navy sub sailor, I'd say we are NOT near the end of the world, by quite awhile. As Jesus said, being a question in religion/spirituality section, only GOD the Father knows when the end will be. So live each day to the fullest. I'd work on getting skills for your future, for whatever career your planning to follow. No overboard worrying about missiles or whatever.
Focus on you first, then family, then the community.
When you are comfortable (educated) - most worries settle down to a dull whisper.
You ask about: "Also, in the newspaper on Friday, a psyco killer convicted in 1990's is awaiting his excution, its now in 46 days, he said that he will not be excuted, the end of the world will come before his excution, and if it doesnt he will certainly be surprised. Is he just saying that or its becuz he psyco? ya know? so what does everyone think?" -- This is just a caught man looking for his last few seconds before the community forgets him, before it returns to work on real problems of living. NO ONE HUMAN HAS POWER TO AFFECT THE WORLD. Again religiously, only Jesus will affect the world, but again NO ONE KNOWS WHEN.
Also, you ask: "Isreial is now starting problems. Does that have any thing to do with the end of the world?" -- It takes more than a country defending it self to start WW3 or worse. Right now, luckily, we have enough people that remember a real war to stop these hot spots, around the world. You never want to forget WW2, and the lessons that were learned. Interesting you think Israel started anything.
I stopped listening to talk radio, and watching the news, I mention this as I am now more positive - because my focus is back on family, and local community. As I am very small, I help where I can. The hate and bile, spin, double talk, from radio/tv no longer affect me.
Religiously, there are no signs to the end of the world.
Seriously, concentrate on what Jesus said and did, try hard to follow that. Treat yourself and family as you would want to be treated. Help where you can. Also, find time to laugh, long and hard. Moderation in all things. Be a little serious AND a little silly. MODERATION.

Hi cassandramar...
The bible tells us: And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. Luke 21:20.
It also tells us: For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Zec 14:2
When you see Half of Jerusalem go into captivity Cassandramar and you will very soon now see it happen. Then know that the end is near. From the time that God refashioned the earth and place man on it, Adam and Eve, He has given man six thousands years. The six thousand years are up. Almost. If you truely want to learn go to www.tomorrowsworld.org In booklets you will locate The Beast of Revelation: Myth, Metaphor or Soon-Coming Reality? It's free...
Do have a good day and happy reading.

Why would the world end tomorrow or any other day in the near future? By the way, if it does what does that prove, other than the world just ended? Do you have any idea how many psychos have predicted the end of the world? It is a childish fantasy, that makes a hard world a little easier to deal with, the big God is coming and will make it all better, NOT! He is not coming, he is a myth, always has been always will be. Ask any devout worshiper of Thor, Amun Rah, Zeus, Baal, Astarte, Osiris, Isis, Enkidu, shall I go on? Why is the current popular God any different than the ones I just mentioned? If your rational mind tells you that believing in some guy that lives at the top of Mt. Olympus and throws thunder bolts is ridiculous, why not apply the same logic to your current believes, you might surprise yourself with the answer.

The prophesy is not when Israel goes to war. The apocalypse signs are that the stars will fall from the sky, the seas will boil, nation will be set against nation, etc. People have been saying the end is near for millenia now. For example, the christian faith originally thought that the end would come 10-20 years after Jesus death. Other instances of people believing the end is near include the Jonestown incident and the Waco incident (With the Seventh Day Adventists).

No man knows the time nor the hour..
Where does it state that in the Bible? Please give me specific texts.
what problems are you referring to that Israel is starting? Last time I checked they were not the ones sending out suicide bombers and blowing up buses and marketplaces.
Yeah that guy is psycho... you said it so why do you want to put any value on what he said.
I'm not psycho and if I tell you the world is going to end on Dec. 29th would you believe me? The only thing different is he found a newspaper dumb enough to print it.
You are looking in all the wrong places for your answers. Try a sincere deep study of the Bible. All of the answers are there, with the exception of exactly when the world is going to end.
I AM SERIOUS I WANT TO KNOW THE BIBLE TEXT YOU WERE REFERRING TO REGARDING THE END APPROACHING WHEN ISRAEL GOES TO WAR. PLEASE TELL ME.
Dragon king ... that waco thing was not the Seventh Day Adventist. He was a stand alone cult leader. Just likes Jamestown.

Whoa, calm down. It's not the end of the world. There's a lot of time yet, if you'll look back into history, Israel has been at war a lot. And killers have walked free as well as been executed. That guy is just being a crazy guy. But this is the best advise right here "Live every day like it was your last."

Israel has been at war since the day it was created. That's not different. And I doubt taking the word of a psycho is really a good thing. The Bible says nobody knows when the world will end. It's why we have to be prepared all the time.

We do not know when the end of the world will come or I should say the return of the lord Jesus at which time the wicked will be burned. But two signs that have not been shown as far as I know are the two witness who will die in the streets of Jerusalem and the temple being rebuilt on the mount. One thing I think we can be sure of is it will be the end of the world for the killer your talking about.

Hello Cassandra;
That's my daughters name too. In regards to your question. In Matthew 24:32,33, Jesus spoke of the fig tree. The fig tree is a reference to Israel. Go back to vs. 14. There is your answer. "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations;and then shall the end come."
The gospel has not yet been preached to all nations. There are
outlaying remote places in the world where the gospel has not been heard. When that happens, then the end will come.
What we now see is what Jesus referred to as the "birth pangs", the "beginning of sorrows". Matthew 24:8. He spoke of wars and rumors of wars, betrayals, false prophets, love of many will grow cold, famines, earthquakes etc. But, He warned us in vs. 4,"Take heed that no man deceive you. For many will come in my name.....," Also in vs. 33, "So likewise when ye shall see all these things ,know that it is near, even at the door."
The "these things" are all of the signs He just mentioned.
The wars, famines, earthquakes etc, etc.
All the signs are visible, I believe the end is near. But, Jesus warned us that "no man knows the hour of my coming." vs. 36 and 42. When ye see these things, lift your eyes to heaven for your redemption draws near.
Hope this info helps. The time is near!
As regards to that psycho you spoke about. Do not pay attention to someone trying to bring attention to himself. He knows he is a lost cause.

The only thing we know for sure is that we will will not know when the end comes.
I have had many days over the years when I looked around and said .. "Yup could be today".
I don't know that I will finish typing this answer but I know Jesus is coming back as a thief in the night, So we watch and pray.
