It depends on the state. In many states its 14, but you have to get special working papers and your parents have to sign off on it. There are also many rules about when you are allowed to work and how long you can work for.

Depends on what kind of jobs you have around you and other things. Babysitting, doing other people's chores like cutting the lawn, working for your parents' restaurant..

16 though, for certain minimum wage jobs like scooping ice cream or being a cashier at grocery stores or applying for some clothing stores in malls.
