Ouch. If your skin is still hot to the touch, you need to work on cooling it down. Try taking cool (not cold) baths...showers will hurt too much.
Instead of straight aloe, look for the aloe with lidocaine (or benzocaine) in it -- this will help numb up the skin.
I also think Noxema works wonders for sunburn...just slather it on.
If you are still in a lot of pain tomorrow, you may want to see a dr. It's possible that your burns are serious enough to cause scarring.
Also, you should be on high alert for unusual or changed birthmarks...you've heightened your skin cancer risk significantly.
Fee better!

Ooh, that sucks! With red hair, I've got fair skin, so I know what you're going through!
Here's what always helps me. I drink several glasses of ice water in order to hydrate my skin. (Also if the pain is really unbearable I'll take an Advil/Motrin just for comfort.) Then I'll take a long cold shower and use PURE aloe vera extract (I used to use a lotion that contained aloe but it wasn't as good as the real thing.) Finally, do anything you can to avoid touching the burnt skin or picking at it. Don't peel!!
Hope you feel better!

If you live near an 24 hr wal mart or drug store they make some real good aloe gel that has benzocaine stuff in it. I just can't think of what it is called.
It used to be a blue gel, but probably has many brands and names.
A cool bath and some advil will also help. I would see a dr if its not better by tomorrow

Soak is cool then cold liquid
Then take 2 benadryl, that will draw the histamine away from your skin and take some of the burn
Dermaplast is next, followed by a couple of aspirin or ibuprofen which will take down the swelling of the skin
Then hit yourself over the head for not wearing sunscreen and follow with a mantra of "I will not get melanoma by the time I'm 30."

aloe lotion will not work on sunburns. aloe will only make the sunburn last longer. honestly see a dermatologist, a skin doctor. a prescription for a really bad sunburn like yours can only be treated by a professional doctor. I hope that you find some relief soon.

I suggest if the burn is that severe that you should go to the doctors. When the blisters open you will be inviting infection if you use the remedies listed above. Good luck to you and I hope you use a sunscreen and reapply often the next time you are exposed to the sun in that way.

Time should help heal it. I get sunburns all the time, and aloe vera usually helps me. I don't know why it's not working for you... Take a cold shower to relieve the pain. Hope everything turns out well! ^_^
