It depends on what he's doing. If it's dangerous, annoying or too warm to leave it down then he should put it back in a ponytail or braid. The only requirement I would have for a man with long hair is that he keeps it clean.

It really depends on the hair. I had a friend that had the most beautiful head of strawberry blond hair that god has ever put on a human being, and he always wore it down. I also have a friend that has really long hair, but it is kind of wild and frizzy, and his looks really good pulled back in a braid. Some guys should not even have long hair.

I think it's fine either way as long as it's not frizzy and well cared for. For formal occassions I think it's nicer tied back. (but in a pony tail - not in a man bun..lol..I don't like those)

down and flowing..as long as its clean and neat. i hate when guys have long greacy hair thats all outta whack.
Also, i prefer it when guys with long hair have it straight or curled out at the bottom, depending on how long it is.
